im going to flush but how much water should i give my pot its 5 gallons, ive heard i should put 10 gallons of water but will i kill my plant or anything with all that water? what about mold and root rot?i have to flush soon so could someone please help

flush with 3x the container capacity. In ur case, it would be 15 gal. dist. of corse. Don't ust pour all at once, do it like ur waterin, nice and slow.

wow..I've never heard that....I cant only imagine that the buds get water logged..but when you dry them out it would mostly evaporate off... you need to give the plant energy to grow more mass and loads of light :blsmoke:

I've never heard of flushing increasing bud size. U flush the plant to get rid of all the nasty leftovers from ur nutes which could affect the flavor of the smoke in the end. Thats why u stop the nutes a week before u plan to harvest. I'm currently experimenting with mollasses, I've heard everything from, it makes the bud taste better, to it makes big fat buds, so I'm gonna find out for sure. So I"m givin mine no nutes for the last three weeks just to see. Good luck with urs

thanks, lol its a strange thing to hear i know i guess the reason i say that is because my nugs are sort of small. their not like those nugs u see bulging out from the plant that almost look like small footballs lol each nug on my plant is more like the size of a snickers mini haha but at the same time its not funny cause their small :sad:

my guess for the reason why is because i had them in veg for 30 days and was 18 inches when i flowered, i topped it (i heard that topping reduces nug size and then when u harvest u still get about the same yield u would have gotten if u didnt top it), and please dont laugh but i only got 3 cfls on it...im not getting a hps or anything i dont got that kinda money or a job so at most i would just use more cfls like 6 or something

sooo yeah one of those is probably the reason but this was my first grow so the experience i got out of this is just gonna help me perfect my next plant :weed:

so do i just flush 1 time thats it or more?

U should only have to flush it once right before u harvest, although sometimes it may be neccessary to flush earlier as well. If u want those fat nugs, u gotta get lights on em, lots. U won't get those footballs with just 6 cfls, but u should notice a difference. Nothin against cfl's, I love em for sproutin seedlings up until about three weeks, but I'm extremely partial to the hps though, a 400w hps puts out around 50,000 lumens, just from one bulb. Do the math and try to see how many cfl's it would take to match that.

If you have been using nutes, a flush may "unlock" the root's ability to draw nutrition better again. Nutes can cause the root hairs to get impacted with salts and shit. Flushing will help dissolve this. After flushing, let the soil dry out before watering again. Water with only water for a few waterings. If you are early into flower, you may go back to nutes again. Just leave enough time to flush again so your bud tastes like bud and not s#@T!

Yup. Light is critical for hard tight gooey nugs.

mmmmmm nuggs thanks guys i have a good feeling this bud will taste pretty good not like salt or nothing.

i heard if u do have to cut off a leaf after u cut it off u should squeeze the juice out the bottom and taste it if it taste bitter u need to flush more if it taste normal kinda like bud or what a plant would taste like than its good to go

tell me about it lights are soo crucial and cfls dont compare to hps but ive also heard a wide spread of cfls over just 1 hps can acually be good for ur bud wierd huh :neutral:

so i got a week maybe 2...maybe cause i dont want the bud to get bad while im drying it because it still ages some after u harvest it, anyways i just flushed it today so i guess all i gotts do now is take care of my baby with water and thats it and im gonna dry it for about 2 weeks then cure i for almost a month. they may not be big but those nugs are gonna knock me on my ass when i hit that shit just the thought of it...:rolleyes:
