Thinking about changing nute brands. What do you think?

Hey guys wrapping up my latest grow and I had pretty good results. Started my first three grows using fox farm products. Last grow I switched from FFOF soil to roots organic and had much better results. Starting to think fox farm might just be great at marketing and just an ok line of products. Thinking about changing my liquid Nutrients to General hydroponic what do you guys think. If NASA uses it it’s gotta be good right?

That's what I use 3 colors,cal mag, surge, bud blaster

I think people put too much emphasis on nutrient brands. They all contain basically the same things excluding the differences between organic and synthetic.

Years ago I went through the nutrient nonsense. I was chasing brands thinking the next one was better. I was wrong. I used Botanicare, GH, and a couple others before I realized that I didn't need them and they were extremely overpriced. I went to an inexpensive dry nutrient similar to Jacks or Masterblend that contains everything a plant needs and haven't looked back. I never have any nutrient related issues. I've been using the cheap nutrients for years with no added additives and my plants always grow great. I even grow in coco and never have the need for CalMag although many say you need it when growing in coco.

I see people using a dozen bottles of concoctions that they have to mix up at different rates for each week. It's ridiculous and not necessary. If there is one thing to say about the cannabis specific nutrient industry is they have top notch marketing people pushing their products. But once you realize that they spend more on marketing and packaging than they do on what's actually in their bottles you move on if you understand basic plant science and that you don't need any of those shiny bottles of products with cool sounding names.

I can grow just as good of weed with a couple dollars worth of a micronutient blend, calcium nitrate, and a little MKP in flower as those using these dozen bottle lineups with some ridiculous feeding chart to follow. If cannabis specific nutrients are so great then why are so many people constantly having issues and needing things like CalMag when those things should already be in any decent base nutrients.

I rarely see anyone using Jacks having issues. But the Marijuana Problems section is full of people paying top dollar for Advanced Nutrients, Fox Farms, and many other nutrients targeted towards cannabis growers.

I know my post is likely falling mainly on deaf ears and I understand that some think cannabis requires all these special products but it doesn't.

I mostly agree with you I’m more in the three part Is my max. I find just for ease using a three part with a grow and bloom part makes things simple for me. I have been definitely noticing that products designed for cannabis is really nothing more than marketing. I was wondering if it was pretty much across the board. Gonna try GH trio next run. See if I can notice a difference I have just kinda fallen out of love with fox farm products.

Silly question, but you are converting the ml/litre to ml/gallon, right? I found biobizz works pretty good once I read the chart correctly. That said, I'm not using it at the moment. I use chems indoors and organic outdoors.

Dude I'm from BAlkan.. We use metric system.. I completely f up last 4 grows with ph waay under 6, and I use soil..Now I'm keeping it under 7.5 (i figure it's org nut/ ) and still got yellow leafs, but burned tips.. Like wtf.

Understood. LOL. Over here we tend to use a bastardized combination of metric and US standard that somehow works out to ml/gal, or milliliters per gallon.

I like to keep pH between 6.2-6.8 in soil, but you're right, organics should adjust on their own. I'm not sure how to help diagnose the combination of yellow leaves and burnt tips, but if you post some pictures I might be able to offer some advice.

You wouldn't be the first person to have issues with biobizz, that's for sure.

I stopped coz I thout i figure it out how much lime acid do I need to add ,But In all those years something has changed in my tap water ph.. Now I'm checking with yellow china pen,but those things need calibration too often.. I'm waiting for ghe liquid test kit now to come with bio bizz ph -....


@CaliWorthington I will dm you in couple of hours with fresh pictures . I took growing last years too much for granted.. plus I dont write everything I do and I have super demented stoner brain so every grow is new learning coz I forget too much..

Just get some pH testing drops that’s all you need.

I agree! I found some organic https://www.countrymax.com/Flowers/ Flower Formula thats a nice blend. And I think this should be good enough right ? I was only worried that their may be something bad in these fertilizers. Anyone know if there is any thing to worry using these fertilizers?

Best move i ever made. However my supplement routine and nutrients routine is pretty complex. I feed my plants something every watering. Monday they get Jack's hydroponic 3,2,1 and humic acid. 2 Days later They get coco house and gardens 15ml a/b, growers recharge, house and gardens aminos with special silicates in it, house and gardens root Excelurator, tribus grow bacteria, tribus bloom bacteria, Neptune's harvest 0-0-1, and golden tree. With a good foliar feeding with sticky wetting agent, tops and bottom of leaves with more Neptune's harvest 0-0-1 They're 4 weeks and 1 day old.
