Did u get hydroguard
I asked for that he said it wouldn't kill the bacteria and my roots wouldn't improve. I have a 5x9 gorilla grow tent to pick up tomorrow at another store. I'll grab the hydro guard from them. The store i went to today is terrible. They always give me the worse advice it seems like. Lol

Ohhh ok. I see. So should I wait until my roots are cured before adding hydroguard to my reservoir? Or treat the roots with h2o2 first then switch to hydroguard? He told me to use 25ml of 3% peroxide from cvs.

You need to focus on getting a method of preventing your rot because nothing else is going to matter if you are constantly fighting that.
Peroxide works SOMETIMES and like rky said, its not something you just do once and poof. You have to commit.
Me, my method is EWC tea. You can choose sterile and that works too. Just find something.

Going back to your first post, you say that you have to adjust the Ph every other day. For your Ph to be rising this much within a day seems to be the issue. Just from my experience, which is growing DWC exclusively for over a decade now. When ever I have had plants that start to look like yours it's always the Ph being too high. When corrected they take off and look great. With me I had been using a dodgy Ph meter for too long and would give me false readings. It would be only when they started to look like yours I would re check Ph and see that it was too high.

When in Veg, as they drink slower, I can have plants sit in a reservoir for over a week and the Ph doesn't change at all. To be having to re adjust Ph a whole 1.0 every other day is a problem. Also when I've had minor root rot issues it was usually from being sat in a too high Ph reservoir for extended periods or too high temp water, however you say the temps are fine. Something is making your Ph increase far too quickly, don't have an answer for you but maybe try to dial back whats going into the res to just the 2-part nutrients. Then see if Ph still increases as fast, then add the extra suppliments one at a time and check to see if you can see if its one of the suppliments causing this.

Im just reading about these nutes now and they say they have something called Ph perfect. Which they say automatically adjust Ph to be correct. To be honest I'm not sure how much I trust this and could quite easily be the cause of the Ph increase. Any one with anymore info on this Ph perfect system might be able to help as it sounds a bit odd to not have to check your Ph in DWC. Lots of issues normally arise from the PH going over 6.0 in regular DWC grows.

Imo there is way to much confusing and bad information with the AN ph perfect lines of nutes. Lots of people say they grow with it and never check ph. Lots of people say you have to check ph. Adjusting ph on something that in theory was designed to not have the ph adjusted seems like a bad idea at face value. I used the stuff but gave up because I could not get it to work for me.

I found that when I mixed at the levels that the bottle wanted me to ph would go to 5.5 and then drift up over the next few days. Then when it reaches 6.5 you change the res. That is some info I got from the hydro store.

I feel like AN over complicated their shit by trying to make it easier on us thick skulled pot smokers

Hydroguard is a preventative action, not fixing

It's a must have in DWC in my opinion

H202 kills to much stuff to use regularly
Hydroguard is a preventative for sure but it got me thru my grow. Never had to use h2o2 again. Ive seen my res get to 75 once but mostly it's around 70 - 71 degrees.

Also gh nutes have consistently brought my ph to 5.5 using the Lucas formula on res changes. The nutes work pretty damn good.

I've heard it's more bang for the buck. I'll prolly try it on my next grow.
the million times the strength is literal.
The little 16oz bottle will last way longer than a gallon of hydro guard. like 1ml per 5-10 gal vs 3ml per gal and were still dosing the SA considerably stronger.

Im reallllyyyy surprised he didnt want to sell you the $50ish gallon of hydroguard. You may have a decent shop there... He is at least lol.
Hydroguard WILL clear up rot, but you have to use it at at least 2x recommended strength so it gets expensive. I know this from personal experience. Ive turned fairly rotten roots around with both hydroguard and southern ag. The SA works way faster because of how much stronger it is.

Thanks for the extra info. I can't think what secret they discovered to make the plant uptake nutrients out of their Ph sweet spot, if this is how the nutes are supposed to work. Once the Ph goes above 6.0 - 6.1 the plant will just lockout required nutrients. Hell, have you seen how long a vegging plant can stay alive in DWC with just plain tap water?, no nutrients added, as long as the Ph is at 5.5 - 5.8 that thing will keep going for a while before it starts showing any deficiencies. Wouldn't be as good as if you had used nutes obviously.
