Building a grow room

At this point I don't even know if my plans are a pipe dream or just a slow process to reality. I will soon be moving and have a new space to plan. I will most likely just set my tent up to get started growing again. This will give me time to examine what I have to work with and decide if I have to adjust my plans.

I spent some time this morning coming up with a rough plan of two separate grow spaces. One dedicated to clones/veg and the other for flower. The space was purposely designed a lot larger than the actual grow space for ease of work. Not sure if what I came up with is too big or too small for what I'm aiming for yet. Just realized I left out a spot for a humidifier. I'm not sure how I'd handle fresh air intake for the rooms either. Ideas? I had considered making the veg room 8x10 and use a 3x3 setup, would give me 2.5' of room on each side like the other room.

I had originally thrown in quad plugs at each power location but decided that is probably way too much. The wall outlets will only be used for wall fans, multiple placements on each side for "just in case" thinking. Each room has a ceiling mount electric outlet for lights. I'll be the first to admit I don't know anything about electric design, so I'm open to comments on this or any part of this setup!

Running DTW in coco. Had planned for some type of drain system that could handle normal daily hand watering/feed, and also something for the future if I decided to go to some type of drip/automatic feed system. Maybe some type of flooring with floor drain that could handle a reservoir or line catastrophe. Is that being overly paranoid or prepared? I don't know much about those systems.

This is just an idea for now. What other things should I consider or need/should change on the design? Thanks!

Looks awesome so far! Only mildly jealous of your space and 3d skills ;)

Besides a drain on the floor which you already mentioned, I would add a faucet and maybe sink since you have the space. Would make refilling your res/water tank a lot easier once you move towards an automated setup. Even with hand watering it would be awesome to be able to fill your bucket/cans right there. Or maybe another small utility room right next to those 2 rooms, where the res sits so that you can keep that extra humidity out of the flower room. In fact your veg space is big enough, I would probably try to squeeze it into there.

There will definitely be a sink with an RO system feeding that water supply. My current setup requires me to carry 5 gallon buckets down a flight of stairs. No more of that nonsense lol

I can only dream of that day. Really want to get a Blumat setup going but handling runoff in a bedroom closet is not doable.. Fully jealous now lol.

I'm not that talented lol! Found a website that allows you to design one free space. Created an account and went to work. It was a little frustrating at first, only because I didn't know how everything worked. Once I started figuring out how to set different height parameters and spin things around, etc it became fun to play with!

Awesome! Thanks. I have tried using Sketchup but it doesn't seem to work well with a track pad. I can't use a mouse very easily bc it destroys my wrist real quick from 25 yrs of programming. I will definitely give this a shot!

Our plan is this is our last home. Really want to take the time to do things right there. Make everything nice for us. I already know I have a ton of work ahead of me with adding this project to the list. So for now this may just be the early planning stages of the build, and as I said earlier once I can visualize the layout plans may have to change, who knows.

Shouldn't be an issue with a track pad, as long as you can click and drag you're all set. All the items to add to the workspace are listed on the right and you drag and drop them where you need them, with resizing and property modification (height locations, etc) for each item.

Awesome congratulations on the upcoming move and best wishes on everything going smoothly. I hope you can find time and space to get this up and running asap!

Coco DTW - I recommend you plan for automated feeding.
Handwatering is fun and rewarding, but it can become a pia.

Especially if/when you realize you can't leave the house for more than 1 day.
Yeah months of handwatering daily can get tiring, plus what you said about not leaving them unattended for more than 24 hrs. That's why I wanted to put consideration for future auto systems.
