Now that summer is coming to an end, I woun’t be able to grow cannabis in my backyard anymore. I still live at me relatives house and I don’t want to put me poor mum in a financial crisis with the light bills. So what is the best method to grow potent marijuana using as little energy as possibles. I can try to make up for the light bill by not using the light in my room and not playing the xbox as much. I only plan on cultivating 1 or 2 little plants at a time for personal consumption But eventually organizing a more enhanced operation once I get me own little apartment or studio. Also will the odor be too strong Because mums will butcher me if she finds out what I’m doing.

You're not going to be able to hide that from someone that lives with you.

Getting rid of the smell means constant negative pressure (fan running 24/7) through a carbon filter and the whole setup needs to be fully enclosed- a grow tent or something similar.

Power wise for a couple plants getting a small HLG LED board 65/100w for 1-2 plants would barely use more than a standard light bulb.

Growing great cannabis means good light, there is no real cheap way to get full potential. That said you can still get decent bud fairly cheap. Now you can use LED's which will use less power but if you get good ones they will cost you. As for smell, yes it will be a problem. I doubt anyone could hide a pot grow without a sealed area and carbon filter to get rid of the smell. Now you can do a tiny grow using sub standard lights that don't draw much power. It won't get you the full potential but can be done. A small extraction fan with carbon filter can keep the smell down and also won't use much power. I grew this under a cheap Amazon blurple light and it produced 3.5 oz but not as dense as I would have liked. It was the first plant I tried to grow. The pot did turn out good according to all that have tried it.

I have seen some fun grows in a mini fridge like you would have in a college dorm. Purposefully stun autos so they don't outgrow the space.

Something like this? But still will require some $$$. If you're doing it with LED's heat isn't as much of a concern.

Wow that’s very discouraging. I wanted to at least grow a half oz at a time without anyone knowing

That's a pretty tiny grow. You could accomplish that in a mini fridge or well sealed cabinet using a HLG 65 (about $100). Then a cheap carbon filter and inline fan/ducting maybe another 70+?

What do you have for a budget for the build? (You can get ridiculous on this)

A 400w hid a closet and a charcoal filter and a small fan will grow you damn near a pound

How much power would this big stupid thing use up if I actually took the time to build it exactly like in the tutorial? Would there be any significant difference in the light bill if I kept it on 24/7 with the fans on and all that? Would it be able to fit at least a half oz yield per plant?

I can spend up to $100-250 for a good reliable setup. I’m just more considered about the light bill since I don’t pay for that nor do I want to raise any suspicions. I would also like the bud to be as potent as possible under these circumstances

I grow more than what i can smoke with 150w of led.. Potency is a crapshoot from seed.

Sorry if that was discouraging, was not trying to be, just trying to be factual. You can also buy Dwarf seeds and those plants don't get very big. My point was you get out what you put in. The plant I pictured did not use much hydro and was grown under a cheap light. You can get decent results, just much better with quality equipment. I would have to agree with Kalebaiden though, trying to hide a pot grow even though small is not the way to go.
