I'm hoping to hear what your experiences are: How was the experience? How is the product? Are prices decent? and whatever else is on your mind?
I'm blessed to live in a tourist-trap town in SoCal - legal for a while now. Lately I've noticed A LOT of "weed tourism" --- mostly out of state visitors, but also; I hear many different languages spoken while waiting in the lobby (outside now...) - german, portugese, french, etc.
I asked a few of them why they chose to come to my little corner of the world. It comes to three reasons:
Location - the beach. The ocean is why I live here too, so I get it.
Expense - California is expensive, but our area is a little cheaper than most.
WEED --- they come for the experience of choosing from a vast shelves full of various strains, concentrates, edibles & more.
As a local - it still strikes me as funny sometimes when I stroll across the parking lot with a half-ounce jar of sativa, a ball of hash and a non-alcoholic THC beer on my way over to a gromie's place to help out with his legal grow.
Much different than 30 years ago: Choosing 1 of 3 sandwich bags of random quality at Sketchy Bob's house where your friend has to stay in the car because Bob's a bit --- sketchy --- and the aroma makes you suspect that his dog pissed on the plants through the whole grow.
Pros - LEGAL, selection, spectrum of products.
Cons - Marketing and prices can be just silly for "top shelf" - $75 for an eighth, and $90 for a gram of wax which almost always disappoint - especially compared with better "mids" going out the door at $35.
So yeah, after a few years, the novelty hasn't quite worn off. What's your experience?
