Bag seeds !!?!? Anyone else like watching what they turn out to be ?

I have a bunch of bag seeds I am looking forward to popping. Been saving them for years. I got 2 or 3 from this Blue Diesel (DJ Short Blueberry x Sour Diesel) I got in Maine at a festival, then a couple Donkey Butter, SFV x Yoda, and Moby Grape (I don't think it's Thug Pug, I've had them for a cpl years. I think it's Moby Dick x Grape Stomper if I remember correctly). Pretty much got all of them in bags I got at Cannabis festivals. lol. I have a load of others but I'm not sure what the rest are. Time will tell. I plan on popping them and running them in a smaller tent so I don't mix them up with other stuff, in case of herms.

It’s a gamble but I enjoy it. Got some good Sativa last year from regular bagseed.
One of the most caked and tasty plants I've grown this was the last round I grew and didn't get as big as usual. Rip TS.

Maaaan.... I have a bunch of genetics now... But I started some beans in April, right.... I swore they were either some Blueberry Muffin bagseeds, or some kind of AZ/Mids brick that was super crystally and lime green...
Boom... Fast forward to July and 6 out of 12 were male, of the ladies, 2 are some ridiculously tall sativa that im estimating at 13 weeks of flowering.. Another is a mutant that leans the same way, One smells like old melted rubber bands... And last but not least...
Fucking BEASTERS smh. The first one to show signs of flower in May, got put away in a closet every night so that i could have a small plant to smoke on and test while I waited. Here we are and I cant miss the taste and smell of Big Bud from a mile away smh
I'm hoping the melted rubber one is the magic blend and produces some funk. Otherwise, number 12 is alright and I'll keep her around for a while.
I resized this pic to put it on my phone. So the quality isnt as good as the one I used for my avatar. I never seen anybody hit the fade on Beasters lol

It might be from a Herm but the pictures here show there is no real risk.

Let us not forget that Feminised seeds are 100% from forced herms.

Bag seed is more likely stressed Herm or such, forcing is more likely the breeder of the original seeds.

In my experience most bag seed is selfed because it never got pollinated.
Edit: Or of course a pesky male or sloppy breeder

last bag seed grow= 5 females, 1 hermie, 2 males. thats pretty damn good out of 8 seeds

BC(where the name beasters comes from) Big Bud is one of the most commercial strains of cannabis that ever flooded the market. It is a cross between the strain Big Bud, and a Sativa(something that rings true if you read my pheno descriptions)intended to add height to the already bulky Big Bud.
There was actually a time where most smokers had 2 choices. Regular/Schwag/Brick weed... Or mass produced "high grade" coming out of BC called Beasters.
If you google pic the words "Beasters Strain" you'll see the oh so familiar strain. Unless of course you werent smoking in the 90s-2000s. That was her heyday.

when the right cuts came through it was DANK!
So Beasters is "BC Big Bud" which is a child of Big Bud and an unknown sativa. SOME people claim that beasters was originally something called M-39. I can only speculate, but I do believe the m-39 actually indicates the number of the male sativa which they bred with Big Bud.
My friend and his father used to grow Big Bud religiously. A slightly different smoke than beasters. More hazy even though it's supposedly indica. This pheno I pushed through and one other are 100% Big Bud. 2 are some sativa that is taking forever to really bloom and then there is that rubber funky mix that I only got one cut of. I think that is the real deal beasters that you and I are talking about. That light green crystally mothball meets kush-ish smelling bud.
So yes, my situation aside... you're looking to buy "BC Big Bud". Though you can get close to the taste you like from the original Big Bud.
