I trimmed all the dead leafs and kept the top is that alright?

So i kept the top growth only

If any other leaves start to die let them fall off on their own, they still had a bit to give back to the plant.

Ok thanks but it will bounce back with only the top growth ?

Yes, if it's going to recover the top growth is all that it'll need.

I was down to shreds of leafs and the plant still came back.
