I'm having trouble seeing any trichomes on my flowers. I cant zoom past 3X in my room. Should I go down the block and try through the window?

JK but in all seriousness, are there any trichomes on my plants yet? Are they those really small things or are they not there yet? I only have a small magnifying glass and it doesent help much. Sunday will be the start of week 7 flower. These are chocolope. Any ideas about how much longer? The nugs are from 2 separate plants that seem too be maturing at different speeds

Trichomes= All that crystal, white, shiny stuff all over your sugar leaves and bud. Definitely present.

As far as how long...based on the pics I'd say a 3ish weeks until finished. As far as trichomes go...no need to look at them until most of your pistils have browned up and shriveled back into the bud. At that point they gain weight and the trichomes are a much more valuable tool. You can buy a cheap loupe on amazon and likely receive it before you need to actually use it.

Good luck! Happy growing:)

Will the trichomes get any bigger themselves? Maybe I'm just used to seeing pictures of them with super huge zoom lol. I'll look into getting a loupe soon then.
And I should be starting to ween off of the nutrients here soon then too eh?

Your phone can take good shots. Try using the zoom on full. The tricks then are:
1) A certain distance will be the closest you can get with clear focus.
2) Angle the phone up down left right slightly, it makes a big difference getting different shots.

You zoom fully to take the shots. Then you can zoom on the photos a bit, and you will clearly see the trichs. A microscope gets a lot closer but is very hard to keep steady on a live plant.
