Snapped 8ft plant at the y when training

So my outdoor backyard plants are like 8/8.5 ft tall. Just to reduce the number of people seeing them, I decided to tie all the branches down. 2 of 3 of the plants snapped right at the main stem where the y splits. It did split pretty bad but I immediately tied string firmly around the base and the breaks at the lower part of the y split. I also put cheap duct tape around the string. Will these things heal now and how long does it take for the knuckle to form on a bad break?

Yesss sir, it should heal! You will see some wilting and looking like the plant will day for a couple of days, but it should bounce back and heal it's own wound!
Time heals all wounds! ;)

Ok cool. I am actually going to reinforce it with some more string over the tape just because a storm is due tomorrow but I will be patient on it to heal. How long should I leave all the string and tape around it before I can take it off?
