Shut it the fuck down

I am not trying to fight with you on it, I wouldn't be able to keep up with responding to everyone the way you are and be able to digest who is trolling you and who is not, so no worries, we can talk another time.

Don't forget you have a ignore feature if you start getting flamed.

Welcome to the political section on RIU. If you get time I highly suggest checking out the links in my sig to understand how this attack is being conducted on us in every forum like this across the internet. The Russian military are even attacking our kids on their video games. If you have family protect them. Best of luck.
Oh I don’t particularly care about people like Uncle Buck who call anyone a trumptard for daring to hold views that don’t perfectly align with his own. I suppose he will never rest until everyone who disagrees with him “gets the fuck out” and rollitup political discussions can just consist of left-wing people agreeing with each other, LOL.

Lol, we have the same mindframe here. You are just taking my comment out of context. The same word but seperate meanings. You're referring to a different type of politicizing. You're referring to Republicans deliberately distorting information to favor a preferred line of thinking and numerous other infractions they are surely guilty of. I'm referring to politicizing covid as a whole. As she was implying that wearing masks is political and referencing protests allowed but 4th of July being cancelled for social distancing as an example.

Shes right about a few things - this country is split based on our party divides and covid has been politicized in that way. If you wear masks and agree with social distance your auto viewed liberal or Democrat. If you think everything should stay open and you're safe without a mask you must be a Republican. People literally out and about bullying others for their choices and making uneducated assumptions.

Let me tell you how far from the truth that is. Theres plenty of Republicans screaming for masks and human rights just as there is plenty of Democrats protesting to keep their businesses open and not wear a mask. I cancelled 3 accounts for Democrats pissed about the shutdowns, today. Their whole life is falling apart. Everything they said was based in politics, instead of science.

It is ridiculously politicized and both parties make assumptions about the other due to these judgemental views. End result America is currently getting no where (as far as covid ) and that is destructive. Self destructive. That's what I was responding too, not the context turn this conversation has taken. I'm a bit reminded of my family here, who insists you must take a side. I disagree. I think that's partially why we are in this mess. Everyone wants to take sides and fight instead of coming together and being a little more open minded.

I agree with all of the above about the govt, hence why I've always voted democratic. Obviously I've "chosen which side to back" if that's what you call it. I claim independent & back human rights and decency. Plus a ton of other issues I'm passionate about.

Again, you misunderstand me. I support BLM 100% since start of movement 2013. I support the true protestors out there risking covid and battling for systemic change, and defunding police. I've been in the heart of racism for 20+ years raising mixed children. Trump is a douche and too many Republicans are not good humans. Regardless of the my views of the GOP, I see major flaws in both parties. I think it's more patriotic to notice the flaws in our country and want better for it, than to disregard major problems that need fixing.
You did say that regarding coronavirus "destructive politicizing on both sides" and that is not true. It's not a matter of context or a double meaning. The meaning is very clear.

I keep hearing that kind of argument and it's simply not true. There is a huge difference between Democrats and Republicans right now. That argument is used to diminish those difference for political gain by the radical right and radical left. So, no, I can't just agree to disagree about that.

Nope, not saying they did. Just saying there is a double standard. If we’re going to be serious about stopping covid, we need to avoid creating exemptions based on political views — that only undermines the credibility of the restrictions.
I don't know what you mean by double standard though, I think maybe you are getting it from multiple angles and did not recognize my attempt to try to understand your position before you responded back.

Oh I don’t particularly care about people like Uncle Buck who call anyone a trumptard for daring to hold views that don’t perfectly align with his own. Or people could just talk and gain a wider understanding of issues.

Unfotuntnatly Trump re-election campaign has turned politics into a triple state of being. 1. Pro-Trump 2. Pro-Democrats and 3. 'Both sides suck'.

The Russian militaries goal is to trick enough people into thinking whatever it is that they are likely to believe so much that they can then be nudged into either voting for Trump or being so disgusted with Democrats that they don't vote at all, which is a vote Trump needed not to be cast.

Where you are being tricked is in thinking that there are 'sides' when you are online getting attacked.

It keeps getting repeated that protests haven’t caused a spike in coronavirus. Fine — then why did we ban county fairs and similar festivals, where groups of people are milling around outdoors? Those festivals and concerts may not be important to you, but they are to people who rely on them for a livelihood.
Why are you comparing apples to oranges?

Protests don’t kill people...people kill people. Remember that one?

One is a constitutional right one is not.

you and other folks who support the protests don’t seem overly concerned about their risk of spreading covid — because you agree with what the protesters are saying.
"you and other folks who support the protests"

LOL. way to give yourself away, mrs. "i don't like trump but"

oh, and we're not overly concerned because there is no evidence that socially distanced, mask wearing protests outdoors have spread covid. moron.

Well I’m pretty sure without legislating masks here we would not have enough compliance to do anything. My workplace all of a sudden stopped wearing them in our warehouse so I went to the manager (not really) and asked her to enforce it, an hour later she was out on the floor not wearing one. One of the owners (husband of the owner) never puts his on.......Monday I’m sending an email out to insist on mask wearing ........ fuck them all, I’ve had my fill of stupid.
Yep, if there is no mandatory compliance they stop wearing them and those who do, feel stupid after a certain point, but thanks to local pressure ;)

Hope is on the way and I never even had to call anybody a stupid cocksucker either, everybody with a brain agreed, we Liberals have them.

How are Dougie and the Tories doing? Still on the phone with Donald for advice?;)

Masks to be mandatory in most indoor public spaces in Nova Scotia
This is how we can protect each other and support our local businesses,' says Premier Stephen McNeil

Starting at the end of the month, Nova Scotians will be expected to wear non-medical masks in most indoor public spaces.

"This is how we can protect each other and support our local businesses as we learn to live with COVID-19," Premier Stephen McNeil said at a news conference Friday.

The policy will take effect Friday, July 31.

Indoor public places include:

  • Retail businesses.
  • Shopping centres.
  • Personal services businesses, such as hair and nail salons, spas, body art facilities, except during services that require removing a mask.
  • Restaurants and bars, except while people are eating or drinking.
  • Places of worship or faith gatherings.
  • Places for cultural or entertainment services or activities, such as movie theatres, concerts and other performances.
  • Places for sports and recreational activities, such as a gym, pool or indoor tennis facility, except while doing an activity where a mask cannot be worn.
  • Places for events, such as conferences and receptions.
  • Municipal or provincial government locations offering services to the public.
  • Common areas of tourist accommodations, such as lobbies, elevators and hallways.
  • Common areas of office buildings, such as lobbies, elevators and hallways, but not private offices.
  • Public areas of a university or college campus, such as library or student union building, but not classrooms, labs, offices or residences.
  • Train or bus stations, ferry terminals and airports.
Non-medical masks are already required for passengers and drivers using public transit, as well as private taxis and shuttles. That measure took effect today.

What are you talking about? Who am I pretending to be? This is the first (and probably last) political thread I’ve posted on, as 99 percent of my posts have been about growing cannabis. I am honestly curious about your theory about my secret identity.

I happened to post on this thread because I thought there might be a reasoned discussion among open-minded folks about how covid has gotten politicized. And I do see it on the right, with the idiotic anti-maskers, as well as the left, where people grade the risk of covid infection based on a mass gathering’s political aims.

But it appears the only purpose Uncle Buck has is for everyone to regurgitate the same left-wing ideas to each other, while shouting down anyone with a different point of view as a Trumptard.

As for the other folks, any point I’ve tried to make is countered with recitations of how stupid Trump and the Republicans are — which I don’t disagree with. Just because the GOP are a bunch of dipshits doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to provide them with ammunition by declaring the protests pose a lower coronavirus risk than other mass gatherings.

no, i grade the risk based on evidence like: did covid cases rise in areas with lots of protests?

they didn't.

that won't stop you from beating your dead horse though, and then fucking that dead horse.

Because trump reminds everyone that "Freedom isn't free" this is the USA, Civil Rights are worth dying for, Justin Bibber not so much.

Some mouthbreather's that cant think beyond Dinner time and could give a shit weather you live or die.

What is more important to you?

then you proceed to cry about protests over a cop killing an unarmed black man by kneeling on his neck for nine minutes and then shitting yourself and fainting about how you'll soon be called a racist if you dont support abolishing the police, which the left secretly wants based on one op-ed

just stop.

Baseless innuendo? Are those some new words you picked up and are eager to use? Good job! Just for future reference, though, I was making statements. Innuendo is when you imply something without actually stating it. It’s ok, just keep trying — I’m sure you’ll learn to use all the big words someday.
I think innuendo covers your post avoiding ...church

I figured it’d be something dumb like that. However, I must concede you have very effectively persuaded me to “just stop,” as I won’t venture into the political threads again, LOL.

Have fun agreeing with your leftist buddies and congratulating each other on your wokeness. May your self-righteousness never be disturbed by a contrary point of view.

Let’s try this again because I’m starting to agree with @UncleBuck and that never happens.

they aren’t grading the risk because it’s protected under the constitution. Is this simple enough for you? The constitution protects their ability to do this. Just like the “anti protesters” are bearing arms and standing in their streets as the protesters went by. You’re one of these right wingers that is so ashamed you agree with liberals when you’re around them and even make dumb jokes about trump. It’s clear you don’t support the protests it’s all you’ve been saying post after post.

This proves my point. The truth comes out after enough rambling.

If police were unlawfully taking guns you guys would fill the streets with tears about the guns being taken away. So “just stop.“ :bigjoint:
