Was there no way to remove that glass?I would say put the hlg in the middle and the viper lights on the sides to start your grow. As your plants grow you’re gonna want more light. You can add more light with relatively inexpensive led cobs like these to fill in around the hlg and vipers. This one is 24 watts 3500k I got on sale for 12$ and it’s just like the cobs marketed as grow lights. I currently am running a advanced led 350 watt led, advanced led xte200 150 watts hanging in the middle, with 12 cob bulbs hanging on all the sides which I added as they grew. Just a thought, but those you have are a great start just use all of them. Good luck brother
I have four fiets 9, 16 watts also but I really wanna grow my herbs along side the weed. So crazy I just want actual buds not a veggie plate and thanksI would say put the hlg in the middle and the viper lights on the sides to start your grow. Theyre taking in 136 actual wattage if im reading this right, i have two so im hoping this can bring a set of plants up to full growth, i just took of the hlg 99 watts to grow my herb babiesWith the lights you have you can definitely do one or two plants full cycle. Unless the vipers are actually pulling 300 watts each then you can do more for sure.
Not on that one but you can on similar bulbs. The glass optic on that bulb is pretty dope and concentrates the beam which is actually good from what I’ve noticed. Was there no way to remove that glass?
It's not good. Ditch it. If possible. Not on that one but you can on similar bulbs. The glass optic on that bulb is pretty dope and concentrates the beam which is actually good from what I’ve noticed.

Actually, I’m curious as to why you recommend removing the optic. It’s a 40 degree optic on a 24 watt chip which seems like the perfect amount of watts for a 1.5-2ft area squared. Have you had issues using similar lights? It's not good. Ditch it. If possible.

I just don't really believe in optics for LEDs. They diminish the output.Actually, I’m curious as to why you recommend removing the optic. It’s a 40 degree optic on a 24 watt chip which seems like the perfect amount of watts for a 1.5-2ft area squared. Have you had issues using similar lights?
Oh I see, yeah I feel the same way and I do remove most of them especially if they’re frosted and what not.I just don't really believe in optics for LEDs. They diminish the output.
