Because I moved to Arizona and no one has smokable weed here, I don't sell anymore so don't need 10lbs shipped in. I hate growing weed, but what you gonna do. All my old connects only sell pounds or only work in state now,and I hate traveling.

Am I the only non Viet vet, the kill counts rising fast.
Desert Storm vet here. I think a lot of veterans grow their own because they realize the government does not necessarily have their best interests in mind. We take care of ourselves because we know “they” won’t. I feel it is my duty as a citizen to break laws that are unjust or outdated. Growing to me is satisfying enough to take the risk.
Weed is still illegal here unless you have cancer or some other disease. Pretty dumb too because surrounding states are now pulling in tons of revenue. A lotta people have been recently forced to sit at home on quarantine so they are driving to another state to pay a 20% tax on top of the already insane prices. The state approved medical weed is total garbage. I’ll take the Pepsi challenge against my home grown any day.

I once watched a tiger swim across the river in front of our landing boat in Vietnam & disappear into the heavy brush along the riverbank. And then was quickly dismayed when about a minute later they cut the engines to drop the ramp & let us disembark for the night. :o After seeing how easily it swam the river, there was little consolation that he had landed on the opposite side. To say I slept very lightly that night was an understatement.

so i always have good nugs, so my friends always have good nugs, so i can give it to people who need it instead of them getting waxed on mids at a dispensary, because its immensely enjoyable, because i love the plant. also to make a living (and chuckle at the people who told me i couldnt)

I smoked my first weed in 1969 in a rice paddy in Vietnam, I was 19. I've been a medicinal user ever since.
Thank you for your service!

On topic:
All of the above
I live in dispensaryville - about a dozen within a few miles, and most surrounding cities have them as well.
Bud quality - mostly commercial - it works, some of it has flavor - top shelf is good, but $60-$75 for an eighth??? And it's almost always BONE-DRY!

My first grow was a bit of a joke for cheap weed. It yielded top-shelf quality * not my opinion * that was from strangers who wanted to know which dispo I got it from after I loaded their bowl (gave em a couple grams).
I enjoyed that grow so much that I got a tent; which I thoroughly enjoy my new hobby in.
Bonus - I know EXACTLY how my buds are grown - never seen a nute listing on my dispensary jars....

So - Cheap weed - rewarding, relaxing hobby - clean product - can be shared with others.

.

I started growing just for myself, then my mother started using canna coconut oil for sleep and pain, my sister for sleep and stress, my sister in law for sleep, her mother, father and father in law for sleep, and some flower for my nephews for enjoyment.

I grow twice what I personally need but growing demand is soon to reach supply. I've gotten 2 family members to start growing and I think my brother will start with one of my nephews when he moves home.

Other than the bud it's a great hobby, a mad scientist kit.

On of my jobs as an Army medic was to triage wounded or captured enemy soldiers. After an artillery strike on a VC compound we found several dead VC. When I turned over a dead VC (woman) I found this US .45. It was in better shape than the one I was issued so I kept it. My brother was in the Navy and his ship docked in the Philippines about a month before my tour ended so I took 2 days R&R and visited him and gave it to him. I got it back from him when his ship docked back in San Diego. Repatriated back to the US of A. I imagine the Army is still look for this one in Vietnam...
