First time in coco coir

Hand feed? I am new to growing indoors but have been growing since 1986. I start them on advanced nutrients grow micro and bloom with general hydroponics cal mag. After 2 weeks i switch to jacks 321 hydroponic fertilizer. its only needed every 7-10 days. You can buy it off etsy in 4-6 pound bags because the regular size bags are insane expensive. If you want to feed less often. Research Jacks Hydroponic 321vand follow the directions to the letter

You can buy 4 pounds for 25-30 shipped. thats enough for a few grows. check esty.com. im blown away at how good this stuff is.

They look good. By the photos it looks like you just watered which would make the leaves droop.

I haven't seen too many people on here with plants that look similar to mine. Yours are the first. Keep it up and you'll pull off my avatar.

Ty but does calmag have nitrogen in it cause a few leaves have the claw. But i did notice my ph pen was not calibrated properly and turned out i was feeding at a ph of 5.0 for about a week.. can that alone affect the leaves a bit

This is the reason for the claw. Get a GH liquid pH test kit. I chased my tail for 2 weeks dicking around with 3 different meters. Switched to the drops and smooth sailing ever since.

Now i keep my pen in a cup that has storage solution. And i check it regularly with distilled water to see if it still reads 7 ph lol. Talk about being paranoid !

I no longer have a meter. That's paranoid. Kept mine in storage solution, calibrated multiple times. Never matched up to the drops.

Hmm im gonna look into the drops then although i paid 80$ cabadian for this ph meter

Needs no calibration, no calibration solutions, no storage solution, and most importantly....it's never wrong.
I've used the drops for over 25 years without issue.

I suspect that ph issue may have caused the splotchy spots on leaves.

1 or 2 gallon pots work great, as long as you automate the feedings. Kicked myself in the ass for not automating sooner.

What does your nute mix include? ML per gallon.

The spots are from spraying safers sulfer cause those plants were in same room that my clones i took from outside. That i ended up throwing out do to spider mites. I am now feeding 15 ml micro per 4 gallons 20ml grow per 4 gallon and 5 ml bloom per 4 gallon. Basicly half strength of the flora chart

Chasing Ph will drive you crazy if you let it. Your ph will flux on its own daily. Check it at sunrise and then check it at sunset. I also am a fan in the drops test kit. i grow saltwater sps corals and ph is everything in this hobby. I have expensive highend ph probes and the drops are just as accurate as this is 400 dollar probe.

Adding 5ml of calmag to the 5 gallon mix aswell

Coco loves small pots. You just have to feed them a lot... I have a 4ft tree in a 2.25 gal pot, they are fertigated 6x daily now

I also use a bit of calmag with every tank.

Not paranoid at all, this is standard operating procedure with pH pens even if the instructions don’t tell you that. That glass bulb is a permeable membrane and it has to be in a mineralized solution to keep it from drying out. I check mine against a reference solution weekly and calibrate once a month.

I think this is probably the reason people have such poor luck with their meters.

One was topped at node 5 and the other at node 2, so one has extensive LST and a couple of super cropped spots to keep the canopy equal with the other.

It was a pain, I’d do them again both at node 2 again (the Uncle Ben method specifically) and limit the amount of LST it needs.

Coco drains so well and holds air between the fibers that there really isn't any reason to add perlite. I stopped years ago.
