So I started my dwc using advanced nutes and after a couple years I transferred to canna nutes I have decent results but I kind of have a hard time keeping a constant ph it fluctuates quite a bit I’m just wondering what people are using and what their results are I have 2 mars led lights that I grow under with a 2 week perpetual garden only additives I use is hydrogaurd and cal mag everything else is the base canna aqua line I’ve heard canna substrate holds a better ph for dwc but haven’t tried it yet any info would be great. I average 4-6 oz per plant in a 5x5 tent advanced nutes gave me a little larger yields but quality is better with canna imo

When I started my hydro journey 4 years ago, I used GH Flora trio.
It worked quite well, but I didn't like using gallons of nutes so I tried Megacrop dry mix for a season.
It also gave me good results but storage issues with the MC caused it to absorb moisture from the air and turn into soup.
I switched to Jacks 3-2-1 last year and I've had great results using it.
MUCH less expensive compared to specialty nutes and allows me to adjust nute mix during different growth stages.

Thank you yea I’ve been seeing a lot of people going to jacks how many part system is it?

I was using the full line up of gro tech before... I’ve had much better results with this emerald harvest. Been amazing.
Thank you so u have any ready let’s u can show because I like a simple line like I only add 5 products for my full line I got away from advanced because of that I was adding like 13 products for the full line

3 part
5-12-26 part A-Source for P&K, it also has most of the micros
15.5-0-0 Calcium & Nitrogen-Part B
Epsom salt Magnesium & Sulfur-Part C

Pretty similar for me:

Jack's 5-12-26
Calcium Nitrate
Cal-Mag

I need the Cal-Mag as my water is only 65 PPM, and I'm in Sunshine #4 (inert peat). Tried Epsom for Mg, but to get Ca up high enough, I had to use too much Calcium Nitrate, which started causing Nitrogen toxicity, so I eliminated the Epsom and went back to Cal-Mag for both Ca and Mg, which allowed me to bring the CalNit down to non-toxic N levels.

I also introduce Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP) at week 2.5 of flower.

looks like there are quite some different calmags, thats why i asked.

i guess most "calmags" are calcium nitrate and magnesium nitrate?

think its hard to get a lower nitrate level when using calcium nitrate and magnesium nitrate
instead of calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate?
as long you aim for the same concentration of Ca and Mg ppm of course.

Well, you'll likely not see Calcium with any Sulfate, as Ca and Sulfates will precipitate, and the nutrients will fall out of suspension. Same with Ca and Phosphates. This is especially prevalent when the fertilizer is in concentrate form.

That's one of the primary reasons most nutrient manufacturers don't include Ca in their main fertilizer regiments (that, and the fact they count on tap water to contain enough Ca for most grower's needs).

yes thats true.
thats why your jacks is a 2 part fertilizer and thats why they can sell the usual calmag in one bottle using the nitrate forms not mixed with sulfates.
i just wonder how you would get your N lower when using clacium nitrate and magnesium nitrate(your clamag) instead of using clacium nitrate and magensium sulfate (epsom) while maintaining the same Ca and Mg level.

As you use a 3 part fertilizer youre using its diluted enough to mix it (like any 2 or 3 part fertilizer), so that not the problem in your usecase.

to be more clear youre substituting magnesium sulfate, epsom salt with magnesium nitrate that way, that gives more nitrate in the end.

Yep, and I started moving to the 2 part Lucas formula, where you don't use any of the grow bottle. Then I bought a gallon each of the micro and bloom, should last me a bit longer I imagine
Wouldn’t FloraDuo be better than GH Trio? I’ve read about people having great results with that.

This was my biggest headache figuring out.
I haven't got my DWC running plants yet, but I decided on the full Cultured Solutions line. I've heard great things, and its specially designed for rdwc.
Curious if anyone has ran FoxFarm hydro? I have that on hand from my soil grow, and wondered how that stuff works out. (I've already bought my cultured solutions line so I will not be using FF, just curious.)
