Is this even possible? 650w Meijiu Bar Light. 3.0 umol/J. LM301H and Osram. 1950 PPFD!!!!

whats the appropriate coverage for one of these 650... i was gonna order a few 720w bava quantum boards for around the same price but after reading about these im starting to change my mind..
I had three Bava 240’s in a tent. Sold one and replaced them with a MJ-650. I like the even canopy. I think it’s like one of the most important part in my style of growing.

Im going for 3 with these Meijiu 650s I ordered. Ill have a few test runs with it in a 4x8 and see how the yield and quality fair against 1kw DE HPS in a side by side.
That would be sweet to see the difference.

I’m running two different Majo’s side by side. One 3000k with 660nm, the other 3000k with 660, 730 and 385.

Hard pressed to see a difference after three runs.

The difference between those and a 5000k I can see. But between the two, I’d need lab work lol.

i had originally planed on running 2 630w Cmh on either side of a 720w board in a well ventilated 5x10 tent, just weighing my options here. if i can use less wattage to create the same yield id rather do that, and i dont really think 70w is that much in the aspect. i would replace the board with a 650 and still run the 630w on either side. i believe i can get a pretty good quality bud from this mix, i just wish i could figure out how to spread the light more evenly between the 2 sources instead of only having 2 points of intersecting light. but for cost efficiency this seems to be my best route to do what id like to do

Yeah, I’d be interested to see that too. I hear that the CMH/LED combo produces spectacular results.

Plus if you need the heat it’s a bonus adding the CMH.

i agree... but still not sure if the 70w loss is made up for by the spread. the bava claims 2.5μmol/J efficiency Light output (PPF):1800μmol/s
and ill be honest... ive been doing quite a bit of research on a lot of stuff but what that means is not something ive reached yet, so a little help in this would be greatly appreciated
these are around 3k for the 5 id need

PPF (photosynthetic photon flux) is the total amount of light that a given fixture puts out. So according to Bava, the light you were looking has a light output of 1800 μmol/s at full power.

so these output more light on a greater spread with less wattage then? the 650w that is

They are claimed to be more efficient yes, and the bars do spread the light very evenly.

No matter how appealing a certain light may look though, some interested parties will always doubt the veracity of these manufacturers claims without 3rd party testing.

i messaged the supplier the other day for the diode count.

she said "Total diodes is 1512pcs lm301h 72pcs osram 660nm 24pcs lg uv 24pcs osram ir." Thats 1632 diodes. bk said MJ-650 has like ~2500 earlier on this thread. They claim to outlight the MJ-650s at the same distance. I dont think its going to be putting more light as the MJ 650s while having ~1000 less diodes. Something seems off.

But I could be wrong... one of us would have to sacrifice some cheddar cheese to find out surely.

You guys know the specs on those 256 Meijiu strips? Voltage and max amps? im guessing 48v since they use 48v drivers and their boards are 48v but i dont see how they bank the LED's to 48v on these strips lm301b is what 2.7v and .2a each? so roughly 18 diodes per bank = 48v @DrKiz

They would be 16, not 18. 16x16=256. And as you increase towards 0.2A the voltage will be higher than 2.7V more like 3 per diode.
