Info needed on SUPER LOW yield

Ok so... my first grow is finally complete! Had a great time cleaning up the bud (although I’m not perfect yet) but I’m a little disappointed with the yield... she was grown under a 600W LED, with average daily temperatures of 25-27C, she was a little over fed (nitrogen) in the flower stage but apart from that looked extremely healthy... my issue is that I only yielded 11 grams of flower... is this something to expect? Or is this strange? The bud had all ginger hairs, with all milky trichomes, some amber trichomes (8 weeks total 12/12). Wondering if anyone else has had this issue before? The bud is not dense at all, like squeezing a pillow kinda dense ... any help or opinions appreciated bongsmilie

Yeah defo chopped early. If your light is weak your growth will be slow and buds will be airy

With cheaper LEDs it pays to look at the actual power consumption and aim for 50w per square foot.

Nothing can help if you chop early though, the trichs don't need to be viewed until the pistils have receeded and the calyx has swollen up.

Looks like it took too much N too.

It happens to a lot of people man. Especially new growers, still plenty of experienced growers chopping early.
always the next run to improve with. :bigjoint:

Since you mentioned 12/12 light scheduling, I’m going to assume this was a photo and not an auto. Like mentioned above, longer veg times and a stronger light makes all the difference in the world. Was the plant in a tent, or grown in the same corner you took the picture? Temp is just one of the aspects to control, humidity is another important factor that I didn’t see you mention. You said nitrogen toxicity happened in flower, but what Nutes were you feeding during flower? We’re they high in P and K? What soil were you in? Lots of questions lead to the lack of info provided. But 11 grams is an extremely low yield whether it was an auto or a photo.

Chopped to early and that "600w led" is nowhere near 600 watts. Also if you want a better yield you need to implement some training and increase veg times.
Yes I thought I may have, I will be letting them go for longer next time round... and yes I have heard that they don’t actually put out what they say, may have to have a look at a different light in the near future. I couldn’t train because I ran in to a breakage early in life (I was new and didn’t understand LST lol) again over the past few months I have got tons better. Thanks for your thoughts bro :bigjoint:

Yes I’m seeing now that I did chop early... but like you said “always next time to improve” and yes I was aware of the nitrogen overdose... choosing a soil with 18 months nutrients because you didn’t understand nutrients a few months back will do that lol. My next lot are coming up quick so I will be more patient this time. bongsmilie

Yes I grow photo bro. my RH is usually 30-40% in a tent with extractor and clip fan. my soil had 18 months nutrients in it, and because I didn’t understand as this was the first grow, I was adding more in the form of liquid nutrients... not great... my liquid nutrients are a little low in p but quit high I’m everything else, I’m going to have a look for 1 that’s a little more balanced. But yes I was quit shocked to see only 11 g’s come up on the scale... but I’ll keep trying lol. :wall:

At least you are aware of the pitfalls to watch out for next time. Good luck.
