I figured I would update this thread!

Well, I lent them the money. Following that, I discovered that they were not a rescue group but bird sellers....It broke my heart. I saw all the birds they had on a website for sale. When I confronted them with what I saw, they told me it was a misunderstanding and that it was a marketing technique...yeah right. Well, since then they packed up and moved, they screwed their landlord over and....me. I have found out where they are now, and, I am filing with the small claims court this week. Lesson be learned, I guess.

I know Miss, me too. I have since then been working with a LEGIT rescue, and, they are willing to help me if I decide to open up my own rescue. I have been fostering birds for them for about a month and I am learning a lot.

I really thought this story was going to have a different end, but, it is what it is. Their greed took over, what a shame.

You cannot make real friends in a few weeks,you need at least a few years imo.
If people ask you for money chances are they are full of crap.
Best of luck and if you interested in birds go to a properly organised bird charitys functions and try to make friends with the people there.
With some luck youll only find genuine people there

Yeah, I did find a real rescue and a group I joined. This is a lesson learned. I think we will be seeing more of this with the economic woes. I just wish I didn't lend them the money, but, I did. So now I will do what I have to do to make this situation 'right'.

My brother said the same thing! I can't do that though.....I just can't. I am going to let the court system deal with it....whatever they tell me that will be that. I know they are doing this to other people, their website is still up and running. They aren't even federally registered like they say they are. They basically are pretending to be a rescue so that people that are desperate will drop their expensive birds off, then they sell them for a profit. I can't let this go until they shut down their website and stop. I just can't.....Here is their website (one of my birds is actually in one of the pics)


I know I won't be able to stop them, but, I am going to do my best to make it difficult for them to continue.

Well i am no law student but i can already see the loophole in there.
Surely they will just claim that some birds are sold off to good homes whilst others are kept.
It will be very easy for them to get away with it and you may end up with the court costs.
I will cast karma at them for you

their website says it all "we thrive to make a difference one bird at a time" surely that should read we 'strive'

i cant believe this turned out that way sunny i hope the court gives them a real punishment but i doubt they will.
