Why not a horticultural soap, contact killer then if u don’t wanna use harsh chemicals?

And then preventative measures

So far I've hit a few with that hardcore miticide, didn't seem to do shit, perhaps took a while to kick in so have thrown those ones.

The rest I've used Yates Conqueror mineral oil, neem, and absolutely covered them in diatomaceous earth.. Having a very hard time finding any adults now, was watching nymphs die in real time under the microscope with d.e all over them lol

Is the smell and taste effect of neem useful in deterring their feeding or doesn't it really do much to mites?

Yeah neem is just a great deterrent for most pests. But u have to be on top of it weekly without fail.

Great. Well they seem to be limited to new growth shoots now..

Just gave the lone wolf in flower a really thorough neem spray, probably can't again though cause the first bud pistils are just starting to come out right? hoping what I've done for that one is good enough to catch the last of them but not particularly optimistic.

im glad you didn’t bother to read my post. I said to use an insecticide whether natural or chemical. Horticultural soap is considered a natural insecticide so would the eco oil I listed (it’s essentially emulsified vegetable oil with some surfactants thrown in) which is organic certified, so would neem oil and a number of other products that wouldn’t need a long withholding before beneficial bug release. For something like russet mites though you might need to resort to a heavy chem first because in most cases nothing else will bother them.

There’ll be heaps to say otherwise but I’ve used eco-neem at a weaker mix and fortnightly rather than weekly right up to 6 wks and to no Ill effect.

Mite update for those that care:

Cut off about 20 lower bud sites and leaves randomly across the one left in the tent for inspection top and bottom up and down - no sign of eggs, larvae, nymphs or adults. Don't wanna speak to soon but I might be starting to get things under control in the tent anyway..

How long do people think it'll be (with no sightings or evidence of mites) for me to be able to definitively say that they're gone?

Is a lower level of population that does consistent but less noticeable damage more likely?

Awesome, 3 weeks at least. Just get ur IPM game on and it wont ever be a problem again.

Sweet. Hoping the neem and diatomaceous is enough to stop the population from going nuts again. Preferably get rid of completely

nope, but u should be able to use a coat hanger and get roughly the same shape using a pair of pliers.

when do folks apply neem or their first wave of pest prevention on new clones? Do folks usually wait until they're rooted?

Again forums seem to be contradictory.

Good morning guys, I posted a couple of days ago as I was having difficulties finding a soil with no wetting agents etc.

I’ve managed to find one and have since planted using it.

however it does seem to be a little bit ‘Wood chippy’

I’m going to upload some pics of the soil and you can tell me what you think.

Remember I’m using this soil to fill the top half of my pots only and I’m using super soil bought from organicgardeningsolutions.com.au for the bottom half.

Any advice much appreciated,

I got canna Terra professional soil and it is actually really no bark and holds and drains water really well anyway hope it helps good luck

Week 3 from seed IV only toped 1 just thinking others look a bit small so I 5 plant but seeds are just normal so hope I get 3 fems at least strain is super skunk I'm trying to figure what's the best veg time for decent yuild and bloom and booster nutrients for me.
