Mother vs clone from clone

So I hear not to clone from clones but I have a buddy on his 9th gen and growing some fire buds in bulk.... Wanna build a 2x2 or 3x3 foot tent/cabinet but don't know if I should veg and clone before I flower or keep a mother in the new room and have baby plants using up my 2.5'x5'... I'm just getting myself lost now

I think it's a coke vs pepsi thing. Some people think you should and some think you shouldn't.

I do..

Besides; if you get a clone from someone, and want to keep that strain around, you'll always need to take a clone of a clone. Which is probably what the person it was obtained from did. You could be 2 to 3 in by the time you get it.

idk about your other question.

It could've been cloned a hundred times too. I have a couple clone only strains that have been getting cloned for 30 years.

Grow a few keep one of the best as a mom, flower rest , then take as many clones from mom as needed at once, or a few each month. Depending on how long you veg, then flip to flower.

Cloning from clones is totally fine. I know some growers that have recursively cloned 20+ times and the plants are still perfectly happy.
