DWC Nutes are going to bankrupt me!

I have 6 plants flowering in Promix DTW and I just built a small waterfalls tub that I'm experimenting with. The ones in Promix are at day 26 of 12/12 and the waterfalls is at 8 days. They were only about 2 or 3 inches tall when I put them in the waterfall and after a week they're probably around 10 inches. Incredible growth!
Sounds like it’s working great!

I went through a really bad time with my grow room. I shutdown for about 10 years and when I started back up, nothing seemed to be working right. Powdery mildew I couldn't get rid of, slow growth, small leafy buds with no smell and weak potency. I shut down and completely cleared my room and ran an ozone generator for a day with the room sealed up. Then I went and bought a 6" inline fan to replace a 4" one that was bringing fresh air in. And when I pulled the 4" fan out, I discovered something had got in there and built a nest and was blocking the air. Cleaned everything out and installed the 6" fan and it's like a whole new world in there.

I typically dump my system every 14 days.
I feel ya on running through a ton of liquid nutes.
That's the main reason I switched over to Jack 3-2-1.
The only thing I've bought over the past year has been epsom salt.
I think I have enough of the base and Ca-Nit to last for years...that was about $85 worth of nutes.
I'm gonna guess the $85 worth of nutes was the 16lbs bucket with lid of MaxiBloom, correct? Lol. That seems to be a pretty universal price. Seems like that would last a long time. 7gs per gallon, 450g per lb, X 16lbs is 7200gs. So basically1,028gallons of nutrients mix worth from the big 16lb container for $85. Not too bad. GhFlora trio can be bought for the same price for a gallon of each part. 5ml per gallon mixed, 3,785ml in each gallon is about 757gallons mixed per gallon. So in theory you're getting, very weirdly, almost EXACTLY 25% more.

Yep buying liquid will get costly. I switch to Dry ferts I use are stronger and last longer. I started with Raw solubles then switched to Kalix.

Megacrop is super cheap. That’s what I use in my 8 site rdwc. They have a new two part like jacks, or you could go the jacks route. Both really cost effective

How often do I drain and refill the system? Also, do I have to fill it every time now that it's got long roots/How about refilling during the week?
I would recommend looking into Lucas formula to keep things simple and as far as changing out your Rez, I wouldn't. You can easily go through a full grow with topping off your water and adding back nutes. As long as you are not using some super complicated recipe where things can get out of whack it's easy. I went decades doing this and there was never a problem. I even went two cycles to see if it could be done and had same results but never tried it again but I don't really care about the costs of nutrients.

Edit: Reason I recommend Lucas Formula is because you can use it during veg and bloom and never change your rez.

Helloooo-
I built a 135 gallon / 12 plant system with a waterfall and 3" PVC- It has space for 12 plants but it was too much for a 1st grow in a 5x5 tent so I've got 8.
It can call for over 3 cups of grow -bloom-whatever- using General Hydroponics. That makes a $45 gallon go F-A-S-T!

135 gallons in a 5 * 5?

Why not just go Krusty buckets and save yourself a bunch of grief?

In my opinion, R/DWC is the way to go for trees; if you're doing that a 5 * 5 space is great, for 1 plant, irregardless of whether or not it's 5 gallons or 135 gallons.

No, that was a 25# bag of the 5-12-26(Jacks, not maxi) and 15.5-0-0 Ca-Nit.
That does over 3150 gallons of solution @ 3.6g/gal

You could build a smaller system for veg like I did. My flower system was also over 130 gallons. So I made a smaller 40ish gallon system to veg them in to be more efficient.

Also, master blend, jacks, and mega crop are all much much cheaper than pretty much anything else. I bought gallon bottles of the GH trio when I was about to start my first crop. I did the math on it and figured out at least 1 of the bottles wouldn't even last a whole grow so I sold them still sealed and bought some megacrop

And that's all you ran last grown megacrop only or did you use their CalMag?

nah the older versions were meh in flower because too much N.
They just recently released a 2 part thats very similar to MB or jacks that should be much better and ive been looking at giving it a try.
With the older versions most of us use stuff like MKP and MagPhos so we could drop the MC down to lower the N.
A typical feed was like 3ml/gal calimagic + 1g/gal epsom + 2-3g/gal MC +1-2/g combination of MKP/Magphos (whatever was needed to keep balanced lucas formula).

Is Jack's made especially for weed? The guy at the grow shop doesn't even carry General Hydroponics anymore, he said GH is just that, made for generally everything.

I mean I'd rather grow slightly smaller plants, to save $100's- just grow more...

You don't need cannabis specific nutrients to grow weed. Jacks will grow great weed just as it does with other plants. Cannabis is a plant. You do not need all the overpriced cannabis specific nonsense.

The guy at the grow shop is the last person you want to be getting advice from. If you can grow a tomato you can grow cannabis. It's a simple task. Don't over complicate it.

Where is the best (cheapest) to get Jack's in the usa- right from Jack's??

I need the A+B And RO for veg and then bloom and finish, right? How about the UV?
ps Thanks for the info every1!

I buy Jacks from a local hydro hut here in Norcal. It's cheaper than having it shipped.

If Jacks were not available locally I would probably be running the new Mega Crop 2Part.

The new MC2Part is a virtual copy of Jacks 5-12-26.
