Helloooo-
I built a 135 gallon / 12 plant system with a waterfall and 3" PVC- It has space for 12 plants but it was too much for a 1st grow in a 5x5 tent so I've got 8.
It can call for over 3 cups of grow -bloom-whatever- using General Hydroponics. That makes a $45 gallon go F-A-S-T!

How often do I drain and refill the system? Also, do I have to fill it every time now that it's got long roots/How about refilling during the week?

I switched to GH Maxi series about a month and a half ago, and my plants couldn't be happier right now. Much cheaper than the liquid stuff.

You can basically only top off especially in flower. Don't worry about cha ges because usually they drink it fast enough anyways

Jacks and Maxi bloom are far cheaper.

Hey @Kndreyn how much do you use of the Maxi bloom per gallon and you use Epsom salts with it or have CalMag?
I use 1 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of the maxi bloom in flowering. For veg I started with 1/2 teaspoon of maxi grow per gallon for small plants and I'll probably bumped that a bit when they get bigger. I add calmag to both. Like I say, I just switched to using it so I'll probably experiment a bit. But my grow right now is the best it's been since I started growing again after being out of it for about 10 years. But I also made some environment changes at the same time I switched to the maxi series. I've been struggling with problems since starting up again and I'm pretty sure I solved all the problems now.

Oh wow so it's just MaxiGro in veg and MaxiBloom in flower with CalMag in both. Do you ever mix them in transition? Is there enough N in bloom? What calmag do you use?? CaliMagic liquid?

I can’t find who said it or the post, was recent but older post, guy uses 7grams maxibloom 5ml calmag as required per 4L. Have a screen shot for my reference but missed the name, I’m interested as this is a simple Lucas formula with one powder. Maxibloom start to finish.

Yes, just MaxiBloom for flower. And I've seen some who use Maxibloom all the way through. And I use the CaliMagic. I have some old CalMag on the shelf out there, but it's probably 15 years old, so I bought a new jug of it.

On another note, I'm really impressed with the growth in that waterfalls tub I made. Unbelievable!

So far it's working great for me. I should take some pictures. Everything is lush and perfect. Buds are really packing on.

This is the thread where I found the guy talking about using Lucas formula with MaxiBloom. https://www.rollitup.org/t/maxi-grow-and-maxibloom.239177/ I weighed it and 7 grams is about 1 1/2 tsp.

That’s my next plan, I’m using 2 part m/b right now. Like a 7/14, backed off just a bit. Need more bloom, might just switch to maxibloom midway here.

I really like it. When I mix a 5 gallon bucket of the MaxiBloom for flowering the ph comes out right around 5.6 - 5.8 every time. When I mix the veg formula I have to add ph down to get it there.

Nice, I been mixing 7 gal topups in a portable jug, works good too, I haven’t had to ph in over a month, 5.8.5.9 I haven’t tried 5.7, I tried 6 for a week, back at 5.8. Really pleased with Lucas and my first waterfall run, had few issues that I caused but I’m past it. Sounds like the maxi buffers just as well. I’m day 24 12/12 so I’m in the fun part now, well it’s all enjoyable but you know what I mean.

I have 6 plants flowering in Promix DTW and I just built a small waterfalls tub that I'm experimenting with. The ones in Promix are at day 26 of 12/12 and the waterfalls is at 8 days. They were only about 2 or 3 inches tall when I put them in the waterfall and after a week they're probably around 10 inches. Incredible growth!
