I"m trying to find a PLANT moisture reader to test the dried moisture content of drying bud. Search inquiries for "plant moisture reader -soil" returns only soil meters!!! Google customer service doesn't answer the question, doesn't understand my question even. ALL search queries return only soil meters when I know plant meters exist. HELP

Well, to be fair, you did put "SOIL" in your search term. I just Googled "Moisture content meters" and found this pretty much immediately.

My use was by google direction as to how to word queries. use a - sign in front of a word you want excluded from the search result. Therefore the -soil.

Yes, that is the type of meter I'm looking for Thank you. Now only if I can find one I can afford!

I missed the exclusion operator in there. The problem with Google is that it's hard to exclude words from their searches because I'm pretty sure they don't apply excluded words from the top results (paid advertisements)

Moisture meters are cheap but the exspensive ones can give +/- 0.1% accuracy.

There are a few threads where people tested their bud and found 10-15% levels after drying.

Tag me if you get one and make a thread, love to see results.

I was looking at the link posted a little bit and noticed the same model meter is used for detecting moisture in hay... in fact, they include the readings for hay mc under the hemp product page... I tried looking a bit into what probes they use, but got bored.. I figured Id pass the info along to you, they hay version looks like it would work and is only $230 or so instead of the $435... Not positive it would work, but may be worth looking into... I wouldnt mind having one myself probably wont have the cash for it anytime soon but will let you know if things change. Please let me know if you look into it further, or find a similar product that works. Thanks.

You can pick them up cheap if you want, wont be dead on accurate +/-2% but i see them a lot with drywall inspectors and building checks for insurance. Not sure they have a hemp setting though, might be worth finding a specific plant material one.

Good to know thanks, Yeah I figured the cheaper ones would be a lot less than +/-2% accurate. I may even have one of the old drywall ones around somewhere, Thanks
