Aside from the fact that fresh weed won't burn, if your plant isn't far enough along smoking the buds will likely just give you a headache

the way I used to do it was put a few nuggies into freezer overnight. when all dried and crispy lightly run buds over silkscreen (printing t shirt kind)and the beautiful golden triches fall through unmolested and unfazed because the oil in the trich doesnt dry out or evap in the freezer. smoke golden powder in a bowl. This is called kief. Its better than buds imo.

Microwave a few buds in 10 second bursts and cool for a sec till it's not soggy. Not the greatest but works. Best to use a bong

It's going to be harsh as hell on your throat because of all the chlorophyll still in the plant. It will still get you high, but it's going to taste like garbage and hurt to smoke. You might want to go with a bong over a joint.
