This will be my 5th grow but first ever in a tent ive just bought a 1200 by 1200 by 2000mm tent it would fit 4 medeoke plants or 2 big fukers in it my question is for that size of a tent wat wattage hps or led light should i use

1000w HPS would be ideal. A 600w would work but you could do 1000w.
If you go led i would go with something like this.

600w hps would do ok. specifically what 400w led are you talking about? the cheap ones are all way over rated.

I have a 400 watt led (2000 watt advertised) in my 4x4 tent whuch is basically the same size. Will it work? Absolutely! Might you be disappointed? Possibly. Depends on the purpose of your grow. Did ok for me for personal use.
I quickly realized I wanted/needed more. Pretty sure every grower goes through that I'd suppose. I do agree with JoeBlow with the HLG though. However, I personally believe that the 600h kit is a far better deal. Sure, you have to assemble it yourself but I know nothing about lights and built it with 0 issue.

That light is only 200w. Way to small. They claim it "replaces 400w/600w HPS". It doesnt.

You need to be looking for wattage draw from the wall. Most of these LED companies severely overrate their products.

This light would probably be ok for a 4x4. Still a little under powered but it would get you some flowers.

100 percent agree. The kit just just ran cheaper and had more wattage which is why I got it. The one you linked is a plug and play and has a 3 year warranty over the kit's 1 year. Pros and cons

Hay man been running 1.2x1.2 for awhile in NZ. Did you get a light if your still looking I may be able to help. Mh and HPS local cheapish love em in winter hate them in summer.
Led I wouldn't buy what's currently on offer in NZ I have before and I won't again until the market charges. You can get better LEDs overseas for the same price if not cheaper.
Bugdet and what you want to achieve will help determine what will work best for you.
