I have heard a bunch of complaints about the less expensive hanna meters. I like the Oakton basic ph tester ($75) and the truncheon blue lab ec meter ($125) personally. Make sure you keep your equipment clean and calibrated if you want accuracy. Those liquid ph testing kits work great too. But they are a bit tedious if you have a good digital.

Don't get the truncheon ph tester, it has issues. But the blue lab ec/tds meter is the best on the market. It's actually a pretty cool little toy...

Anyone got any ideas on what to use out there other than what has been posted so far???????????????????????????????
How about a pH meter and ppm meter that isnt made by Hanna!?!? Anyone?
I'm still havin' problems with mine and its just a basic Hanna pH meter.
I dont even know what my fuckin' pH really is at this point!
I check my resi and pH is a little low so I add some pH up and it reads lower the next time I test!!!!!!!!!! WTF!
So I figured fuck it before I really screw something up to just stop and hope my plants like what they get until tomorrow when I can get something else that actually works!

Please Please Please help me out here I need something that works. . .thanks everyone

Hey Gypsy about how much that run you?
I paid $160, but that link I posted sells them for $117...

Totally 100% happy with mine...

Lots of people using these.. continuous meters usually last longer as they do not dry out...
