I guess if you already pulled the trigger, it is what it is.
hope you like your new light.

Put on the dark glasses when you open the tent with that 1000 or else it will blind you.
Be prepared for some of the most dense cola's you've probably ever grown. Right strain and a good grow and you'll kill it.
Good luck
LOL, will do and thanks. Looking forward to it.
See the bulbs in your picture there, and how they have a power socket at one end of the bulb only? That's a Single Ended bulb. Not sure what you are saying. According to the instructions it is air cooled by hooking your 6 inch filter system to either end? If that is single ended than I am not understanding what single ended means.

Ok, so what would be the purpose? I have a double ended hood for cooling, what would be the point of a double ended bulb?See the bulbs in your picture there, and how they have a power socket at one end of the bulb only? That's a Single Ended bulb.
Here's a photo of a Double Ended bulb:

See how it has power leads from both ends of the bulb? That's what a DE bulb is relative to your SE bulbs.
The hood is irrelevant. It simply houses the lamp's fixture/socket, and provides the convenience of having a glass enclosure around the lamp and fixture for cooling, by providing 6" duct ports at either end.Ok, so what would be the purpose? Thanks for the info, what would single or double ended change? The hood is irrelevant. It simply houses the lamp's fixture/socket, and provides the convenience of having a glass enclosure around the lamp and fixture for cooling, by providing 6" duct ports at either end.
The hood is not part of the lamp or its fixture. When someone says SE or DE, they are specifically and only talking about the lamp and the socket it fits into, not the air cooled hood that the light/socket is housed in.
The efficacy of the light's output itself. Thanks for the info, what would single or double ended change?
In the world of Leslie Nielsen, good luck. We're all counting on you lol.Everything is purchased so at this point I have no budget.
Nice, thanks for the info. Just did a quick read on them and think I made the correct choice for my small space. From what I read those bulbs do not like air flow directly on them making heat an issue. That said it is great info to have as they apparently last longer. Will be reading up, thanks. The efficacy of the light's output itself.
Don't worry about it, you're going to be fine with your SE in a 4x4', trust me. You've already got it, so after you've put it to use, you can do your own research on SE vs DE.
Thanks bud, on itYou're fine with the SE. It's more than enough for your tent. Now get busy and start growing some dank.
A DE in a 4x4 would be damn difficult to manage. You're fine with the SE. It's more than enough for your tent. Now get busy and start growing some dank.
5 pages in too! thats a new record for RIUA thread without a single argument or bitch session. It must be xmas lol!
Way to try to jinx things here, you GrinchA thread without a single argument or bitch session. It must be xmas lol!
It turns out that if we can just help each other out and talk about things, then maybe the world would be a better place buddy. I like 648s personally because of the low heat and efficiency, but honestly I have had excellent results with HIDs in the past(20+ years ago lol!) and we should all try to respect people. As they say, if you think it's dumb, but it works, it ain't dumb. At any rate, I'm excited to see what Doug has in store for us in the future!A thread without a single argument or bitch session.
