What is the best tactics for growing massive trees?

I have some great outdoor grows, sometimes getting very tall, but rarely as big and bushy as some of the pictures I see on here.
Our season end closes in quite quickly as well, so that doesn't help.

I don't want to get to specific to my situation, because I want this thread to be a discussion of use to every outdoor grower who is looking to grow massive plants.

The only thing you can do if you have a short growing season is start them indoor. Putting a 3 to 5 ft tall plant with a well developed root system outside at the very beginning of your growing season is going to give you a massive head start and result in a much larger plant by the time they start flowering. Also, extensive plant training will help. A 20ft tall plant with no training/topping will never yield like a 12 ft tall Bush that's been properly topped and trained.

I have a very short season myself and I get trees for sure.
I start them indoors 1st week of feb and train the heck out of them. Then I transplant to as big of a container as possible. Then lots and lots of training.

By training do you guys mean with LST and or topping? Pretty new to growing, wouldnt mind if I got a plant the size of a tree haha. My plants are already a couple of feet tall, I'm planning on growing till October. How big would you guess theyll get? There currently in 20 gallons not sure if I should go up a size in a little bit

Something many people don't mention, assuming you already started indoors and have wide holes already prepared. When transplanting gently frizz up the rootball on the sides and bottom so the roots don't circle. This will help the plant establish much faster underground.

This is why I use fabric pots... but yes if one was to use plastic this is a good idea

Yes training is lst and topping and super cropping etc.
Advice would be dont set a date for growing until.... you should grow until they are finished. A common newb mistake is taking them down early.

And if you want massive yields then yes bigger pots will give you bigger yeilds.

And there is no way to tell how much you will get...too many factors.

If you want em to get really big you'll want to transplant to a bigger pot. I haven't been able to grow outside for a long time, but when I did I used 100 gallon smart pots. And some people go much much bigger than that.
