I just think that the death of one man (at the hands of the police), leading to protests/riots that kill far more people. Sort of 'waters down' the argument some.
And, the media seem to not really cover these deaths (or other attacks going on). Rather, they seem to prefer framing the narrative between two sides. So they can get a nice 'east coast, west coast' battle going. Not just that, this type of coverage caused issues to spill over into other countries (like the UK). And lets not even talk how these media stories from the US play out in countries where they have always segregated and culled minority groups (and where no modern media covers their suffering anymore). Nice.

imho - People like David Dorn, Dave Patrick Underwood and Italia Kelly (amongst many others of all backgrounds) should NOT be forgotten in all this. Black lives truly do matter (as should, all lives).

Peace.

Oh yeah, a "law and order" republican who is bragging about dangerous and illegal speeding around school children ...

and then bragging about not paying for the ticket! That's a shocker!

Everyone knows “law and order” Republicans have the best lawyers. Coinkydink? I don’t think so.

Lol

I also feel like the woman he did this to probably feels the way the officers treated him was well justified.

In 2009, George Floyd pleaded guilty for a 1st-degree felony charge of an assault and armed robbery he took part in 2007 and spent five years in prison for breaking into a lady’s house with the intent to rob her. George agreed that he wore a blue uniform to look like a government employee to gain the lady’s trust, and eventually pave his way into the house.

The lady soon realized that the person was impersonating to be a government worker, she tried to shut the door but Floyd brute-forced his way into the house. Consequently, five people exited the truck parked outside the house and went straight inside the lady’s house.

According to Daily Mail (UK), the court report mentions that the victim identified George, tallest of all the robbers, who pressed a pistol to her stomach and forced his way into the house.
He served his time and was held accountable for any crimes prior to his death. Can the same be said for the majority of the police officers with 20+ complaints against them for excessive use of force and/or corruption?”

That's a good point. Even if he were committing a "crime" when he was captured by cops, murdering him was not justified.

Trump will want his ass for making a political statement while in uniform, but it was a social statement, not a political one and he has a right to free speech too, he fought for it, Donald did not.

National Guard pulling out of Los Angeles area as peaceful protests continue
LOCAL NEWS

The National Guard is pulling out of the Los Angeles area, a week after being deployed amid largely peaceful protests and some scattered looting in a few areas, two sources familiar with the plan told The Times on Sunday.
The National Guard has been a visible and controversial presence in the region, guarding landmark buildings like City Hall and also assisting with crowd control.

Protests of unprecedented size and scale continued across Southern California, with tens of thousands marching Saturday in various cities to express outrage at police brutality and the George Floyd killing in police custody.
The Floyd protests have been peaceful, and the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating videos showing officers using force on some of those demonstrators.

Everybody needs to put current events into context, this video clip provides the political context, it shows Donald is getting fucked by Black Lives Matter, it's painted in big yellow letters, ya can't miss it, even from space, on the recently renamed street of the same name, right in front of the WH, Donald can see it from there too, but not from the bunker..

Hopefully this will put body cams on the cops, at least here. Two of the largest forces here are discussing the use next month at the board meeting but the unions have already dismissed that there needed, of course they would though. Don’t see the issue really if you have not done anything that would warrant reviewing. And would it not resolve untrue accusations

More polls from 3 days ago and commentary by pundits, this is both Donald's motivator for action and his leash. It's life or death for Donald and the worst is yet to come, that will happen later this summer, in congress and on the streets of DC. Donald is in a vice and it is getting screwed in tighter everyday, he has to steal the election on a massive scale, he has no choice, its win and hold power or prison in a hurry. Donald is riding the tiger, he dare not fall off lest the beast consume him, Bill Barr seems to be the riding the tiger along with Donald now, he dare not fall off either.

There need to be specific laws about cops touching people or their phones when filming police action, harsh penalties including immediate dismissal. Citizens provide a useful and valuable service for the law and to the courts by objectively recording evidence of crimes, saves money and time too. They should not have the ability to turn off their body cams (multiple, we have the technology) and if they want to dress and act like soldiers, treat them that way legally too, no unions and special accountability, just like a soldier. Make them salute civilians and call them sir without exception, even those who spit in their faces.

They should no longer be called officers, for they have failed to police and regulate themselves as other professions do. An officer is a gentleman and they have failed in this too, back to the ranks, harsh discipline and tight control. They've earned the dog collar and leash by acting like animals, now they must wear it

Lets start with body cams (yes they can’t turn them off) lol, and pretty sure we have laws that prohibit harassing anyone filming, doubt it’s enforced :(. You may want to consult with Rob about the logistics of the saluting civilians thing lol.

It's good to let them know how radical things can get if citizens are pissed enough, they serve us.
