CMH can really make some excellent quality flower, you take a slight yield hit but I suspect that for extract purposes the numbers would equal out due to the higher resin production. I believe that in a commercial space, some combination of CMH and HPS would really be the ticket. If one can hang the light high enough that they will blend and hit your plants from multiple angles with both spectrum I think the results would be top notch in all respects.

I have some pretty cool bulbs that @GoBrah sent me, they are 600 watt SE's that will run on a digital HPS ballast, they have a HPS arc tube and a CMH arc tube in them. I have them in one of my flowering rooms as bare vertical bulbs between rows.

Just finished up my first grow with a pair of SF 1000's and one 315 cmh in a 4 x 4 x 7 tent and honestly I couldn't of asked for much more for my first grow. I made a few mistakes with light height and growing in possibly to small of containers ( couple hermies) but really things turned out pretty good. I've got the plants hanging and I'm beginning to trim and continue the curing process but from what I've sampled so far i'd say the combo worked pretty, pretty good!

They do put off heat. For summer I run all quantum boards.

I never said it was better. I do love cmh though. Frosty as hell. Even better is cmh with led.
I’m just wondering because I’m about to run a 3x3x6 with a 400HPS. First grow and don’t want to severely mess up haha. Would this be good to start with or should I switch to CMH or LED?
