in the clinton years they put away more pot smokers then the repubs did before him, so dont count on obama to do anything good fro MJ, though I still would have him over the singing murderer

Anotherchance thx for the video links, I'm watching
Zeitgeist: Addendum right now. Kinda funny how once the second bush comes in we go back to iraq huh.

All I'm saying is when we send in the millitary we do it for a good reason.....but our government has hidden behind everything

Obama doesnt want to hide the truth from the american people or any people for that matter.

Yes, you did say that when you were discussing the VA hospitals and your father.

Okaaaay, then what would you suggest we do, given the current situation? I'm not baiting you or being sarcastic. I think we're both sitting at the table of reason, as should be evident by our last few posts to each other ( though I DID kick your ass, ha ha ;) ). Seriously, how do you think we ought to approach this whole mess?

My posts are like reading exercises? Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just really nervous and anxious about this whole thing, esp right now, and I feel so passionate about it, like we're really gambling with all we have and more right now.

Do read the Eisenhower speech. It's a classic. He was so ahead of his time, the way he pegged that the military would become a dangerous industry that would put all of us in danger. That speech ought to be required reading for everyone.

You're off tomorrow? I don't know what I'm doing, but I do know that my first job, upon getting up, is to tell myself to QUIT worrying so much. And then to figure out what to do with some stocks.

Yes, I love freebies. Love them. Samples and stuff like that? I figure if I'm paying out the wazoo to take my kids on vacation, and the hotel housekeepers are receptive to nice tips and willing to dole out all the good toiletries? I'm taking them. Why not? Then again, I'm a communist, right?

Night. I'm going to bed. Have a good day off tomorrow.

Caricatures of "real people", well rehearsed phonies, a deliberate lack of substance and meaning in a constant parade across our fields of vision. A living breathing populace reduced to a monosyllabic name and their occupation, if they are lucky to have one. They get Names and Slogans, we get to be ___ the ____ and nothing more.

It's a desperate circus, many showman in many rings vying for your money and your suspension of disbelief. Better than any percentage of your pitiful wages is your utter and complete submission to whatever will keep you complacent.

What vice will ultimately shut you the hell up or keep you focused on it, not "them"? Make a reality show of it and see if they can hook you that way. Provide cheap and easy access to the best sedatives around, make the ones that broaden your mind illegal, allow an abundance of distractions to abound to flood your senses. Keep you guessing with the minutiae of a second by second play by play acted out by people lucky enough to be "important" unlike the rest of us Joes and Janes, people who likely don't share the opinions of the vast majority of us.

Substance is a scarce commodity, when you find it in people, cherish it. When you catch a moment of true connection, embrace it. Think like your opinion matters just as much as the people you see on magazine covers, more in fact because yours is likely based on a way more realistic picture of the world. Get inspired, share your best moments and try to enhance the experiences of those in your orbit.

Don't be a sheep, bleating pitifully for handouts from the ruling class who toss you scraps via Walmart. Grow your own everything. Choose your people wisely and dump the toxic ones. Take no bullshit. Sell no bullshit.

There are few things more effective to fight complacency than good ole honest conversation.

OR worse, you answer them, politely, and they attack you because they cannot compete with REASON.
I hope you dont mean me as the attacker
if I seemed to be on the offence I'm sorry

i dont claim to know everything about both of them or even the majority. Both have their own hidden agendas from the public eye. I dont believe obama's about millitary, i just dont think its his cup of tea.

Thats why he's got biden. He understands foreign policy and obama understands middle class america.

Obama IMHO seems like the better pick of the two because im part of middle class america. Are either one of them perfect no but no i dont want McCaine for anything
he has voted with Bush 90% of the time and Bush has been bad for the country 100%. Sarah Palin is pretty much a joke for VP. What if McCaine died. Come on people your not just voting for the Pres, but the potential runner up too.

unfortunatly picking one of them is never going to be as easy as black and white (excuse the pun) they are people, and everyone makes promises with good intentions and they end up foul.

just becuase McCaine will be good with millitary power doesn't mean that he's what we need

and just because Obama seems to have a diffrent idea as to how to turn the economy around doesn't mean its going to work.

My pick is Obama because i believe he will do more for americans and their rights, and our quality of life.

Don't take me for the unquestioning Obama fan, I have serious doubts about much of what he says. He still is a politician and doesn't deserve blind trust.

I know tho that obama doesn't agree with unnecessary issues in government.
well i think they are unnecessary.

Abortion has nothing to do with the gov
Drugs have nothing to do with the gov (unless regulated and turned into a profitable, taxpaying, legit business)
gay marriage has nothing to do with the gov

These are moral issues, and since when has a govenment of any type been a good place to look for an example of good moral standing.
Just IMHO

Sorry but if you dont have tons of money to dump into a campain your never going to win.

unfortunatly even though our constitution has nothing to with partys our government will always be pretty much two sided, and every 4 years its just a count of whos on what side.

Third party candidates pretty much just take votes from either side causing lost votes for republicans and democrats alike.

o and ps
Nader took plenty of votes from Kerry in 2000
thats pretty much why we got Bush
That and a few other factors but pretty much third partys caused the election swing

nah, it was downright succinct compared to my posts! Very well written.

And if you're watching tv for news, quit doing that. It's so skewed, really. :peace:

No, no, no. My post had nothing to do with you at all. It had to do with someone who can't admit when he's wrong and is now accusing me of thread stalking him when I"ve been posting on this thread for months.

I agree with your above post, btw.

Leilani is totaly right

how can you trust tv or any big corp for that matter. They are on the governments side, just like every other large institution they cooperate to keep the masses under control.

and Leilani you still didnt tell me if you thought i was being the one attacking

Get off your high horse. That's right: you don't know me, but you know you've been backed into a corner of your own making and aren't mature enough to admit it. Get lost.

For more on the myth of the liberal media see my uber long posts on posts #1482 and 1519 on this thread.

No, was not talking about you at all. I think that's all cleared up now, though.

I don't think any of the usual characters who are always shouting about the "liberal media" ever addressed any of posts about the "liberal media'" wonder why? They never stop complaining about it any other time.
