Every representative of promix I’ve spoken to has said that ph ing irrigation water does not effect the ph of the promix itself. So very confused of what ph range I should be irrigating at, considering its a soilless mediumWhy are you measuring alkalinity ppm? This isn't a fish tank so just go by the pH.
Mix garden lime in the Pro Mix before using. And it doesn’t hurt to adjust the pH to the range we desire.Every representative from promix I’ve spoken with has said that ph ing irrigation water does not affect the ph of the promix itself. Ph is 6.5 to 6.7 after nutes. Also what would you recommend I do to the fresh water between feedings? What does your PH reading look like after adding your feed nutrients?
If it's within range, then I wouldn't bother adjusting it.
Good Luck!
Promix hp contains lime in it. At what range would you recommend for this growing medium?Mix garden lime in the Pro Mix before using. And it doesn’t hurt to adjust the pH to the range we desire.
Right, but why are you testing the Alkalinity PPM? 6.3 to 6.5 works great for ProMix HP.Every representative of promix I’ve spoken to has said that ph ing irrigation water does not effect the ph of the promix itself. I’ve been irritating at 5.8 to 6.2 and have been having issues. If the ph is fine I may need to dial in my feeding betterMix garden lime in the Pro Mix before using. And it doesn’t hurt to adjust the pH to the range we desire.
What are you feeding, how often, how much, and at what dosage?I’ve been irritating at 5.8 to 6.2 and have been having issues. If the ph is fine I may need to dial in my feeding better
I’ve read a lot of horticulture articles stating high alkalinity irrigation has the tendency to raise medium ph. I was wondering if my water alkalinity was suitableRight, but why are you testing the Alkalinity PPM? 6.3 to 6.5 works great for ProMix HP.
The pH will tell you if it’s alkaline or not. Testing the Alkalinity PPM (or dKh) is usually a test performed for things like salt water aquariums.I’ve read a lot of horticulture articles stating high alkalinity irrigation has the tendency to raise medium ph. In mid bloom growing in 3 gallon pots I use flora 3 part micro grow bloom, I am feeding 4 ml micro 1 ml grow and 6 ml bloom per gallon around 500 ppm phd to 6.0. I am feeding every 3 days in a feed feed plain water scheduleWhat are you feeding, how often, how much, and at what dosage?
I’m not sure what their recommended dosage is but, when I grew in ProMix HP (all last year) I fed at half the recommended dosage and only once a week. I tried feeding one set of plants full dosage during flower (still once a week) and it only took a few weeks of that to start having issues caused by nitrogen toxicity and nutrient lockout. In mid bloom growing in 3 gallon pots I use flora 3 part micro grow bloom, I am feeding 4 ml micro 1 ml grow and 6 ml bloom per gallon around 500 ppm phd to 6.0. I would suspect lockout caused by over feeding based on how often you are feeding. Here are a few I’m having issues with, not sure if I’m under feeding or ph problems
Thank you, that is what’s most likely going on, I got quite a bit of run off each time so I thought I’d be ok. A lot of people on here say they feed every iragation, so was confused on what I should do. I’ll start implementing only once a week feedings. ThanksI would suspect lockout caused by over feeding based on how often you are feeding.
People who grow in coco feed with every irrigation. ProMix HP is peat based and should be treated more like a soil grow than a coco grow.Thank you, that is what’s most likely going on, I got quite a bit of run off each time so I thought I’d be ok.
