Hi all. First time grow in soil. Plants are fem sour d by humboldt. Growing in nectar #4 soil and got the nectar of the gods Nute line as my buddy who helped me gets great results with it. Plants are in their first full week of flower and are doing great. Thing is in late veg I’ve tried feeding them a few times and they don’t care for it. Even at 1/4 of what’s recommenced. Has burnt the tips just a tad etc. they like plain ph water. Temps are 78 degrees or so and rh is around 50. Lights are 2 315 lecs and the plants seems to love it. I recently got the blue lab ec pen as I know there’s no way they can’t need anything over the next two months at least. Problem is it has two scales and I’m not sure what that means or how to use it or where I should be etc. thanks for any helpD506FF16-B577-4CFD-9DC6-B179000EB5C2.jpeg4D6B350A-1B4D-4CF8-8B9C-0511843C0983.jpeg72A8F763-8DDA-434B-BC6A-7049712AFB56.jpegD506FF16-B577-4CFD-9DC6-B179000EB5C2.jpeg4D6B350A-1B4D-4CF8-8B9C-0511843C0983.jpeg72A8F763-8DDA-434B-BC6A-7049712AFB56.jpeg

Not sure what you are talking about? "two scales"

Are you talking about a PPM meter with 0.5 or 0.7 conversion?

Your blue lab should have EC PPM.5 and PPM.7.

all these scales are just a way for you to check your nutrient strength.

as you can see PPM on your meter has 2 scales. Because there is a .5 calibrated ppm and a .7 calibrated ppm.

500ppm on .5 is the same as 700ppm on .7.

both are the same as 1.0EC.

Personally I use EC.

Do they even need to be fed yet? That soil is nice and rich to begin with so they may not even need to be fed yet. I’m running that soil in 10 gal pots, my plants haven’t needed anything, and they are on week 10 (week 2 of flower). I just give them a small amount of compost tea once a week.

I don’t think they do yet either. But going to do slurry test from now on when they dry out so I can feed them when necessary

That's a decent mix and the do look OK but they need some Mag.

During certain growth stages its used in abundance and is very mobile so it leeches out easily too. NFTGs is driven by Cal and your micro herd. Theres not a lot of Mg in that line as it relies on the soil microbes to release it. (time)

Mag def. is one the more common challenges when running Nectar.

For Mg supplements I like CES Mag Amp over Epsom. (its pricey for chelated Mg)
Epsom will work great but keep in mind its more Sul than Mag so adjust accordingly.
