Foggy takes issue with this doctor and teaching site, I was posting a few of his relevant videos on one of my threads, most are pretty technical stuff. Others here were interested in this topic of HCQ too at the time and I started following the science as it emerged.
Foggy commits liable against this guy that would get him prosecuted in Canada. Here is and example of a recent covid -19 update they started doing to help promote there medical teaching business. Judge for yourself, papers cited are in the youtube description, medical update stuff mostly for professional use. Slagging front line medical people and an American hero is wrong, Trump does that.

I do too, sorry man, but getting your undergraduate, grad, and MD from a 7th day evangelical university and then working in that university is pretty suspect.

It screams of the same shit the Right wing cults have been doing with economics and everything else. These scams universities are designed to help the Republicans troll our population.

Your comments will be noted by those who care enough to investigate the most recent video and judge for themselves. His talks predated Trumps and the right's intrusion into the subject. He's a doctor reporting medical news and giving research summaries to mostly medical professionals. Your post again is guilt by association, I will defend this man until it is proven he is unworthy of it.

They won't, they will just mostly see another post about some drug pushed by Dear Leader and have it's branding burnt just a little bit more into their memories.

And it is not 'guilt by association', I am pointing out the fact that these religious universities have a major conflict of interest when it comes to actual science and are suspect because of it.

Harvard Yale Oxford and Cambridge are religious universities in the same sense that his alma mater is. A distortion, classic disinformation tact. ;)

Riigiht, totally the same. And check how many people do their entire career at Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge. Im willing to bet none in the modern era.

It is like you don't want to understand that there is a major bubble that would form without peer reviewed medicine that would be extremely dangerous.

I understand it fine, but attempts to stifle free speech and professionals are wrong, these debates and discussions have spilled into the public realm. The innocent are often caught up in political debates especially now in the medical community. Trump is recruiting doctors to prescribe reopening, let me know if he is among them. Innocent until proven guilty. Harvard and the rest were religious institutions less than a hundred years ago, they started out teaching science on the side, as a branch of theology, to know God through his creation, didn't work out for them, the tiger got out of the cage and ate them!

I didn't even check Dr Suess's educational background, I checked who was tagging his internet videos. They were all right wing propaganda sites. I also checked his credentials and he's a lightweight in his own profession. Your own perspective brought out another layer -- his entire professional career is funded by religious cranks.

The whole thing stinks.

It's our free speech to point out that the sources you cite ad nauseum are weak and unreliable. There was a reason why the only "Doctor" that was willing to put out those breathily optimistic and baseless videos about hydroxychloroquine's woo-woo sciency use as folk medicine for Covid is because there weren't any good studies on the subject to refer to. Think about why you found those videos instead of something on the subject by the CDC or MIT. You were pwned by right wing propaganda. You can learn and grow or continue to be pwned.

What is it they say about remaining silent instead of opening one's mouth to remove all doubt?

Your problem is, you go at science backwards. You search to find confirming reports on a subject rather than find out what is known. Same goes with that stupid post you made about "promising test results on a vaccine for Coronavirus". Same goes with anything sciency that the right wing uses to trick weak minded people.

Also, disagreeing with you to the point of questioning your ability to even talk on a technical subject isn't "stifling" you. Suggesting you zip your pie hole shut is good advice. Because when you speak, you remove all doubt.

The posts say otherwise my approach has been balanced, your neurotic as any review by an objective person would reveal your emotion driven motivation. Your anger has narrowed your focus upon your prey, ignoring the greater social reality that surrounds you.

Your liabil of this innocent man exemplifies this for many. You are too rigid and lack psychological flexibility, your behavior in these matters is similar to that of Trumpers. Your getting ahead of your skis in this matter like Trump himself, not science, but politics at play here, mixed in with a sore asshole.

Logic is used to solve problems for the most part but it is subset of other mental processes driven by emotion and most often used to rationalise those emotions. Emotions are driven by basic feelings that occur in the body and are reflected back into the mind (like a cat), these correlate to basic approach and avoidance behaviors in all animals and are the wellspring of the more complex emotions we experience that color our thinking, which is a product of both. People are not logical and only a fool would believe otherwise.

I wouldn’t consider St.FX a religious university and I share the same concern that these evangelical schools may promote a bias.

Am I understand things properly? Are you taking hydroxychloroquine based on this?

We've given you objective, verifiable reasons for our skepticism of your source. Your answer is to attack the messenger.

I do lack flexibility when it comes to citing sources on medical science. The source should be reputable, credible and it needs good reference material. That is to say, the shit you posted from Medicrap was none of those. hannimal and I have explicitly explained why we say that. Your response is to call me neurotic. That may be true. Facts-based criticism of the crap you've been posting can come from a neurotic person and still be true. So, your logic fails one more time. Thanks for confirming that you have no good response by resorting to the oldest fallacy of logic -- the ad hominem.

A counterpoint to your rather dismal assessment of humanity's ability to reason:

Policies based upon false beliefs and bias are usually bad ones. To avoid them, we review our reasons carefully and flag those that are tainted with bias or unsupported by facts. We aren't doomed by our irrational side to always make irrational decisions. Using facts to draw conclusions is the best way to form a rational basis for good decisions.

To be driven by passion is often unwise and causes needless suffering to the passionate

Nope I just covered the evolving science and the pro have not stopped over 40 studies currently underway for ethical reasons, even though I think some should be terminated. Scientifically speaking the jury is still out on this recently proven dangerous drug. I follow the science, but I keep the politics in mind too, scientifically speaking, it has not been settled yet, if it were the current studies would be terminated.

The post was a joke for foggy, unfortunately he is mostly humorless. I most definitely do not take HCQ and if anybody uses it, it should be as part of a study in a hospital IMHO. Let the science finish with this, I just watch the pros like a fan at a football game. Everybody outside their narrow specialty is a layman these days Bubbles and some of are still curious about such matters. THis is an international matter too, many of these studies are being conducted outside America and one in Canada I believe, I trust the scientists enough to figure they know what they are doing.

Mixing politics and science is disgusting, right or left. I defend science and free speech here from political interference by dishonest poorly motivated people. Mostly Trumpers and religious nuts though, the ill I go easy on and others I sometimes teach, sometimes painfully. :D

Is political science, science or philosophy is economics? Science goes through elaborate social and pragmatic processes to remove biases, they are so prevalent in human thinking. Politics invokes passion especially when Trump is involved, their is strong (and proper ) aversion on a visceral level and this colors people's thinking, using logic and facts makes it very easy to think the worst of him. Yet others driven by other stronger feelings (mostly acquired) can ignore facts and logic, they love the guy and there are 40%+ of them in the country. My brief thesis explains this using a common modern psychological paradigm that correlates somewhat with Buddhist thinking on this subject. We are evolved beings and bear our evolutionary emotional burden in modern social settings where our instinctive social and emotional reactions make very little logical sense, it just seems that way.

Covid 19 is in the news and discussion, it's the only thing in the news, important public policy decisions are being made and Trump is fucking with scientists and science too. I'm into reducing suffering, foggy excluded ( for now).:D

This fellows writing might provide an introduction to the subject from an evolutionary perspective. I highly recommend his work, Why Buddhism is True, from a science perspective.

Or take the free course here from princeton for an intellectual understanding, true understanding takes both knowledge but mostly practice, just like most things.
I would suggest maybe trying these free Math Courses. I find learning math teaches a lot of humility and really helps to not think you know something when you can actually check to see if you are right or not.

By pushing the videos that Trump is using to snowball the vulnerable?

Edit: I don't know anything about that website, but it was the top result in free online math courses, so it could be a scam, but my point still stands.
