Was sent the wrong EB strips - need advice on how to proceed.

I'm in the middle of building my lights, and I'm pressed for time because my veg plants are ready to go. I'm building lights for a flower room and purchased EB Gen 3 CRI 90 3000k. I purchased 60 2 ft strips for 2 lights for 2 4x4 spaces. I was sent 40 3000k and 20 4000k. I'm just realizing this while laying down the strips. I've already completely built one light using 30 3000k.

These came from Future electronics and they are out of the 3000k 90 CRI, in fact they have no 90 CRI EB of any kind. Not sure how to move forward. I'm using the regular gen 3 (non slim) and no one has those in 90 CRI or 80 CRI. So, my only 2 options are to just use the 4000k or build the second light with 10 3000k and hope I can get 20 more somewhere.

Would it significantly negatively effect my grow using all those 4000k leds? My second light would have 20 4000k and only 10 3000k.

I would hit them up since that isnt what you ordered, and get either some money back or get a credit for future purchase, then do what @crimsonecho said and then at worst replace those 4k in a few months when your new 3k come in

I'm new to this, so this is a noob question. Is there a potential for damaging the strips pulling them off the tape? Are they fragile. I've tried takeing one off and it was really on there (that tape is sticky as hell), and I had to bend it quite a bit to pry it up. Is that ok?

Use a brand new razor blade.

Yes, or bend them. It kinda depends on your tape aswell. Razor, but be real carefull. If the strip is slightly it may loosen easier.

Not sure what your design looks like but if they are on sinks, indiviually or in pairs why not just swap strip + sink?

2:1 4000k to 3000k would make a more fullcycle looking spectum, more vegg friendly but should still flower, around 3700k with some extra red. 4000k is also 90cri? Then it would flower similar to 3000k 80cri, maybe a little easier to grow under due to extra blue. Another way to get out of this, if you want to make sure you have all the red you need to flower is to add a few 660 strips. This would also open up for a nice sidebyside, white 90cri versus white + red.

Either way youre going to be fine, and remember that the first iteration of your build is never the last. Evrybody tries to get this right on the first go, in my experience everybody keeps tinkering.

Did they inform you they were out of the ones you ordered before mailing them out, or did they just sent you the different strips without informing you?
The site showed they had 60, 4k 90cri, 2ft in stock. I ordered 40. After seeing your post i went back and checked and the site still says they have 60. Thats pretty frustrating. My first order couple weeks ago for 4ft ones completely disappeared and did not go through and i missed out on those strips. But i ordered and received some 2700k 90cri, 2ft strips. I was hoping to mix them with some 4k , 90 Cri.

Holy shit, I didn't even think of that, lol. I ended up prying them off of the tape. It would have been so much easier unscrewing the L brackets. Unbelievably stupid. I just hope I did not damage them in the process.

No, they didn't inform me of anything, their site showed 100 in stock when I ordered the 60.

Just looked at the 90 CRI graph in the data sheet. 4k actually looks like it has a decent amount of red.
4k 90cr has a flower which is pretty much on par with 3000k 80cri. My buddy saw no difference. Maybe a bit easier to grow with, extra blue is good for transpiration and vegg.

Tilopa: how did the strips react to prying? Vestas, which are similar to non slim ebs didnt really like it... No damage but not quite straight, resetting them with new super tape and maybe a bit of glue.
