window unit ac help please. Light coming threw vent.

I have multiple ac units and run the hours with my unit on mostly in the day time. Problem is when the lights go out say at 8pm it is still light outside and some light is coming threw the vent. this is causing me to get some seeds which I do not want. my light cycle is 12hrs during the budding time. What can I do with all these window units to block the light but still get air? I like the turn around 12 hrs gives me but can I just go to 14hrs of light? What is everyone doing? I have been in my rooms when the lights go out and this is all I have left to fix as everything else has no light what so ever coming threw. Thank you.

Maybe put some carbon filter over it. I have read somewhere online you get ones that you can cut to size. Then you just stick it over, duno if it would burn the fans on the ac out though

Some guys open them up and paint the white foam inside with flat black spray paint.
