Help with the skunk smell

My first grow has went fairly smooth so far. I have about two weeks left of flower and I finally get to cut her down. However, my house is starting to smell and I am wondering if there is any advice to remedy that some.

4X4 tent with only 3 plants growing. AC infinity T4 fan, controller and 4in AC infinity carbon filter. The rooms above the tent smell pretty skunk like and the wife doesn't care for it too much.
This filter fan combo should be enough. The only thought I had is because the fan is always running at full to try and combat the humidity, it's not giving the carbon enough time to absorb the smell?
Any tips on reducing the smell? Or maybe even reducing the humidity so the fan doesn't have to run full blast at all times? I have a dehumidifier running outside the temp at 40% RH and it can keep up fine.

you need a 6in fan and a bigger carbon filter than your fan. Also, don't go with full speed with your fan, give time to your carbon filter to absorb the smell.

based off my calculation of the CFM needed for my room, the 4in should be plenty.

I run a 4 x 4 tent and started with a 4 inch fan and filter. The fan had to run full power and you could still get a slight odor of cannabis. I switched to a 6 inch fan on a controller and 6 inch carbon filter. Now no smell and the fan runs quieter because I turn it way down with the controller.

I did 5 plants in a 2x5 and used a 6in with a dial. Hardly heard it humming and it never smelled... be prepared for the smell when you go to chop! I live in a flat and had to be cautious, so I bought like 12 ozium tins and left them all around the apartment. 100% nobody could smell anything

Carbon filters need better ratings for cfm, none ive had work anywhere near their max capacity for growing.

I think it's a different issue. I think intake is causing too much of pressure or there is a leak. a 6in fan is over kill for a 4x4 from all the reading I have done.

It's really very simple, if I run my 6" fan and filter on full blast, it will not filter the smell. The reason is that the air doesnt have a chance to be scrubbed clean. Same thing is happening for you. Your 4" fan is capable of changing over the air in a 4x4 at the proper rate, but it is not giving adequate time for the exhaust to be treated. You need a 6" setup with speed controller for a 4x4

I understand. I might mess with the fan speed to see what impact it has on the humidity. The only reason it is running on full as I am trying to drop to 50% humidity in the tent and even after adjusting the sensor location a bunch, I am having a hard time getting it to show lower than that, even when running full blast. My other gauge shows the max humidity at 49%, so I just need to find the sweet spot for the sensor

If you have a fan blowing air in for the intake get rid of it and use passive intake and create negative pressure.

6" never took all the smell I had to upgrade to a huge htg 8" 45lb filter with a 8 to 6" reducer. Can't smell shit now lovin it.

Even a small inline should easily remove and free moisture through neg pressure, not sure why full power makes much difference to humidity.

Why do you feel compelled to go lower than 50% RH? Unless your temps are pretty cool, you don't have to run it that low per se.

I've a 4×4 and have 6" set up, I'm on my first try so no idea about the smell but hopefully IL be ok, absolutely don't want to be caught because I've reeked the neighborhood out, anyway here's mine.

After more digging today, this is the conclusion I have arrived at.
Problem 1) Running the fan at full bore is not allowing enough time for the smell to be scrubbed in the filter
2) I have a wyse adapter sending it outside however some of it is coming back into the intake vent of my furnace. Hoping if I lower the flow of the fan, the smell will go away while maintaining my humidity.

Where is your intake air coming from? That's where to start controlling humidity.
