Jacks 321 in coco help

Hey everyone! It’s been almost 10’years since I’ve been on this forum, holy crap! It’s also been about 10 years since I’ve tried to grow anything, at all, period.
so I decided to try and dive into the world of coco Coir as it was told to me ‘ it’s really really easy’ and was recommended to use jacks 321 as it seems simple enough at the same 3-2-1 throughout from seed to clone.
well, embarrassingly I fucked that up somehow and finding coco to be very difficult to get down pat and really need some help figuring this out.

setup is
Coolgrows 3x3x6
190cfm fan / carbon filter
Grow craft 330 w LeD Light system
Canna coco bricks/ royal gold tupur( I killed
My first run through and started my second, ran out of the coco from the bricks and got a bag of tupur to try)
Jacks 321
Starting in solo cups
GH ph up/down.
Ive been running it at 6.0/ piss yellow on the color chart (using drops, phmeter is on the way).
Temps have been 75-80°f and around 55% RH.
I started at under the recommended 515ppms and still have shown signs of nute burn. Even got in contact with jr Peter and there suggestions haven’t really helped. I’m stumped and would like some guidance and help.
I will say also I’m having a hard time dialing in my lights as well Between distance and strength, but I can address they in a different thread of need be.

from this morning. Should be day 14 for the middle one, day 13 for the Left one And 12 for the right. I have photo non fem seeds and have more on the way.

please help!

Great coco primer.

What is a great coco primer?
Yeah I can’t seem to really understand anything from that website, there’s TOO much info that takes you Jumping from topic to another topic, and I’m always getting lost mid article about their other articles.
I’ve read through it again and again and just can’t seem to grasp anything they are saying, to be honest it’s almost too technical!
Could also be that I learned about washing coco after the fact.
But, I’ve tried jacks 321 at the recommended dosages and burned what I had.

I’m looking for people who have used jacks with their coco to ask questions. Seems too easy and I’ve been running into nothing but trouble. That website cannot help me with the nutrients I am using, I’d like to at least use what I have before buying more stuff.

I’m using coco with jacks as well. I’m halfway thru flower now looking good. I started my plants out at around 300 ppm that’s including 150-170 ppm tap water. So not much over 100 ppm on the nutes. Slowly went up each week maybe 100 ppm. Like I said I’m halfway into flower now and only at 950 ppm. I went to 1100 few weeks ago and got a lil til burn so backed it off to 950. At your seedling stage just keep it around 300 ppm. Maybe even 250. They dont need much

I didn’t realize you dove right into that shit haha! That’s great info, I’ll need to read over it closer later today.
I didn't see it, but what did you buffer your coco with, cal mag or parts B/C? If so at what ratio?
I’ve been frustrated and at the point where I’m trying a soil/coco blend for seedlings to take off on the next germination round.
Also, I was under the impression that I wouldn’t need Cali magic based on the separate parts of the jacks formula with the calnit and the Epsom salts.

@420drummer:
Did you pre rinse/buffer your coco at all With cal mag? I didn’t do that as it claimed to come pre buffered and washed.
My next trial is royal gold tupur, ran out of the canna brick.

I have never used Jack's but apparently you're over-feeding.
Coco is simple.
Feed every day to substantial run off with a pH around 6.0.
Start with low nutes and increase as they grow......even at full size it will never need full strength because of the frequent feedings.......less is always better.
Never use plain water.
Never let it dry out.

This is what they should look like at 2 weeks with feeding daily.

Good luck.

You wont need to buffer canna coco slabs.

What you running your light at, wattage, distance?
From germ and early on light is at it’s lowest setting @%25 and about a foot away. Can’t bring lower due to length of cable but I can raise them up by putting on the cloth pots.
Next seedlings will be in royal gold tupur any experience with that at all?

Good luck.
I hear you, even starting out it was under 400ppm which is lower than recommended starting. I could have definitely burned if genetics played a role, but I’m also learning as I go. What would substantial runoff be? I’ve been going at least %20 runoff for the solo cups so far.

Royal Gold Tupur is the best coco you can buy.......it doesn't need perlite either.
Ok, so doesn’t need to be washed then? Lol
Such a noob question I know, but I’m considering myself a noob right now especially with this.

Now just need to dial in the nute strengths and the light distance/ strength. Lol
Thank you Mick and anyone else who is helping, I feel like I’ve been pulling hairs trying to get seedlings to just grow and live.
Any suggestions for seedlings in tupur?

Most quality coco today doesn't require rinsing or buffering.
Start with very weak nutes.

I used Cana coco which claims it’s already buffered so I didnt buffer. Had few plants have a lil mag deficiency at four weeks in but it was minor and I just foilar sprayed for a few days and it was fine.

Then I guess it was just over feeding the entire time? *shrug*
Started seedlings at 400ppm.
Today is starting week 3 for the middle one in the pic. Still tiny and planning on bumping nutes up this week. Last weeks was about 550 ppms.
When I tried the full 321 on seedlings it burned it, yet I have seen people do it with great results in coco. That’s why I’m getting frustrated with it. I don’t know what I’ve been doing wrong

For me, seeds and seedlings are always stressful. The most!!!

No matter what medium I have used, there is a learning curve and failures happen.

Where possible. Starting from rooted clones is fun, but also has it's own specific methods for success.

i use greenegenes chart with maybe a lik slower rise in strength. You should be able to look it up online. Just type in jacks 321 feed chart. I think koot med has got a chart too.
