bag seed under 2 13 watt CFLs, 1800 lumens, fox farms strawberry fields soil, water whenever top inch is dry

originally planted in MG then transplanted into FF strawberry fields. Only under 2 13 watt CFLs, 1800 total lumens. This was really just an experiment, but I would contribute the near death symptoms to Nute burn? I know the MG is hot and I’ve been reading reviews about the strawberry fields also being hot... need opinions.

That fucker actually looks like its recovering from whatever happened to it. These clones looked pretty much spent when i got them

lol right, that’s why I haven’t pulled it. Waiting for a bunch of stuff from amazon so I figured I’d let it go til then ...I’m assuming it’s nitrogen burn from the mg? It’s been going for over a month now still only about 4-5 inches tall

That is one sad little plant

MG is hot ... Strawberry Fields is hot ( it is a coco / peat mix ) that i seen many try to use but were not happy after all. It is heavily nute burned.

IMO even a mild soil ( seed starter mix / plain potting soil ) would have been better. She is definitely stressed. So not sure “ another “ transplant ( shock ) will be a fix . I would see if it can acclimate to that soil some how on just a watering .

Agreed, another liver transplant will likely kill the patient. It looks like it is starting to acclimate to the soil to me.

Yah man, roasted, it either with light or the soil... likely both. You can attempt to save it... move the lights like 10 inchs above, i know they r cfls but a tthis point you really dont want much light on it. its tough to say if you should even bother trying to transplant as itd probably die regardless. Just give it water and minimal light... if that fails i suggest you go and buy yourself a pack of 5 seeds. of an actual strain not from bag seed that you think you would enjoy. Go buy some promix hp best noob friendly medium I have found. put the seeds in wet paper towel in a ziploc, dont seal it, put it somewhere warm like ontop the fridge. once you have 1 inch taproot plant put in beer cups with the promix. and water it for the first week or two. before starting nutes. I found soils with nutes are fine but they often lead to issues with small plants. I never had excellent results with CFLs obviously. lighting is the most influential aspect of growth.

I didn’t mean to say I was going to attempt another transplant, just the one transplant that already happened from the MG to the strawberry fields.

Wow — how quickly did it go from looking normal to looking like that?

Yeah i would move the light up a bit. Probably not 10 inches but higher than what it is. I also second the motion to buy some good, feminized seeds. Check out Mass Medical and Katsu on the Great Lakes Genetics website.

new sprouts will surpass that toasted girl in no time and you will be happier overall with the results id bet on it. + have more fun watching healthy girls grow.
Yah 10inch is to high for those cfls but just trying to suggest to take it easy on her to give her any chance...

I just bought a pack from the jungle boys 250$ CD healthiest seeds ive ever bought, I am fairly impressed so far, very uniform.

I noticed the initial burn, then the stunted growth ...then about a week later I transplanted and that new growth at the top started, but burned pretty much right away. It hasn’t grown much since.

So start CFLs 4-5 inches from seedlings? And work closer as they get older I assume? I’ve seen people putting their CFLs like an inch away from their flowering plants

Im limited to 32” from floor to obstruction, inside a closet. Are there any LEDs out there that I don’t have to keep at least 12” above the plant?

Ive never grown with CFL but yeah i think most people recommend 4-6 inches and then let them grow into the lights.

yah 5 is probably good, in reality If you want to keep growing and have any real success you should look into purchasing or finding a better light, you will just get extremely slow growth with those cfls, it will never give you what you want, as many of my friends have found out the hard way back in the day. mmm you r just very space limited. It will come down to what you can keep cool in the size space you have and what you r willing to spend$. how long is the closet ? maybe a 2ft t5 like this vivosun. They actually give you some really good growth.

LED or something else?
I used to sprout under a led but my main light has always been HID. 600w MH or HPS or 1000w HPS. Now i run a double end fixture. I have a 3x3 tent with 315cmh for sprout and early veg. I have a 5x5 tent with 600w MH for late veg, 1000w MH for late late veg/early flower, 1000w HPS for the large majority of flower.

Those t5 bulbs are 2000 lumens a piece, so 4000 total for the fixture since it houses 2 t5 bulbs. Correct me if I’m wrong lol ..I plan on using 23w CFLs that are 1800 lumens a piece, at least 4 of them

I don’t think I have the height I need for any LED light, please provide me a link if there are some less intense ones that can be kept the same distance as CFLs (or close to it)
