First time grower - cal mag n watering questions

First time grower in a 2x3 setup with 3 clones. Doing coco and perlite (70/30) and using FloraTrio with CalMag. Had a rough start but I think I’m doing pretty good now. Picked these up from the nursery and I’ve had them for 18 days.

It’s been 4 days since they were last watered with nutes. Today I watered my babies with plain PH water, 5.8 ph but forgot to add CalMag. Should I be worried? They’ll need watering in about 3 days.

Also, should I water less and more often? I’ve been watering untill I see 20-30% drainage and tends to stay moist for 3-4 days. Not sure if there’s a benefit to watering daily vs every 4 days.

Thanks for the links. I read elsewhere that i'm supposed to give plain PH water every other watering. Since I have 3 maybe i'll do some testing.

If you're going to run coco, feed every day with every watering. Do not use plain water...no need to run a test and waste a plant...it will not work out well. If you're reading otherwise, as it pertains to coco, you should burn the book. Good luck.

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll feed them on all watering from now on.

Still reading TintEastwoods links on daily watering, think I'll go that route once I figure it out.

Keep your pots smaller than usual and the daily feeds will not only make sense, but you'll see the results...but you must manage your pot size to the plant. In your case, in a 2x3, with 4 plants....you can easily outgrow the space with 1 gallon pots, when you're running coco and feeding daily. Bigger is not better here. Good luck

Coco is essentially a hydroponic grow, air, water and nutrients need to flow through the roots for full growth.
You can pour as much water through as you like, the only loss would be the waste of nutrients.
I'm a bit lazy, sometimes I can't be bothered and miss a day, doesn't seem to matter.

Coco.

That is a great technique to encouraging root development during early veg and after transplant. (Allowing dry back)

Some want (plan) to do high frequency fertigations. Smaller pots and mature roots are best.

Those who want to water more like soil, use larger pots, fertigate less often.

I run a ph of 6.2.
Ec of 1.6 / 800ppm

Here’s a few more pics of the tips if anyone has any idea. Even the new growth tips look the same. I’m thinking too many nutes? I did add diamond nectar to my mix yesterday (2.5ml in 1gal). PPM meter arrives tomorrow so won’t be able to check till then.
