Hey guys new to the forum! Seeking some guidance here because I'm at a loss. Just recently installed new lights bumping my watts from 80w to 300w (18/6 light cycle). Plants are drooping likely because they are getting used to the new lamp. Working to get her adjusted.

My concern though, shes looking a little light color wise on the leaves. One new leaf (picture below) is almost white in the middle. She also isnt growing much anymore. I'm a newb so I give her miracle grow once biweey and regular water every 2 to 3 days. I'm seeing a ton of stuff online about magnesium, iron, or nitrogen deficiencies and have no clue how to diagnose her problem or even if there is one! Theres also the issue of PH balance but I use Brita filtered room temperature water. Any guidance would be awesome please. Plant started March 27, 2020. She may be smaller due to the old 80w I just replaced.

Agreed...cant see much under the purple lights.
Off the top..try not to use Miracle Grow..compost and natural fertilizer preferred.

pH is likely an issue as well..just because it went through a Brita filter does not mean your pH is correct..Get a cheap pH meter..under $10 online. Even distilled water has a pH of 7 which is high...you need a pH 6.5 for soil. Wrong pH in itself can impact plants ability to absorb nutrients..Get that sorted first before you're trying to diagnose what nutrients it needs

Is this the light you have? If you read the specs closely, its is actually a 130w light. It has 60 2w leds. How they get away with saying they are 5w i will never understand.

And what is "general soil"

Im betting you have a ph issue and or you have over done it on the nutrients and its locked out.

Thanks for the reply. That is the light I purchased. Seems like a scam if thats the case! I used Black Gold All Purpose Soil.

I agree. No point in continuing to add nutes if they're locked out due to ph. The salts in that miracle grow might have started adding up and lowering the ph in the medium. I use the cheaper ph drops to test water and runoff and my grows have been going much smoother since paying attention to ph.

Check the ph of the runoff before anything else. Hopefully a bit of adjustment and a couple days under the stronger lights will have her bouncing back.

Also... time to tie that girl down!

Thanks for the advice. I already tied her down at the stem so she's growing like an L shape. Have to work on tying her down more!

Those cheap Amazon blurple lights are kind of a scam. They all overrated their power.

Also a lot of those Black Gold soils have garbage time release fertilizers in them already so your probably overfeeding if your also adding the MG.

Any suggestions on how to get the plant used to the new light? 1 day and the plant is a little limp. Think it will bounce back? Also, should I run both the Veg and Bloom lights?

Going to look into getting a PH tester today!

Increase the light distance and gradually bring it down over a week? She should perk up after her dark period. Make sure to not get the leaves wet while the lights are on. I personally run both veg and bloom until flower then only bloom. I would also check the temp where the top of the canopy is vs at the soil.

Good suggestions! My tent is a 2x2x4. Will try what you suggested. I usually give it a mist but will stop until its back to normal.

Don't mist unless your treating something or using a well recommended foliar spray. It increases the chance of getting burn spots and powdery mildew in older plants and damping off in young ones. Serves no purpose at all.

And yeah, always run both switches on in all growth stages, even as seedlings. That feature is just another gimmick. There is no benefit to only running a partial spectrum.

The plant will get adjusted to that light just fine. I would start with it about 20-24'' away. Its a pretty low power light you shouldnt have any major issues.

PH looks like it's at 7.0 (neutral according to the test pic above ^^). Any suggestions?
