Can I “cook” my soil indoors in my empty grow room? Or must it be outside? I
I never thought about the decomposing matter adding a little co2.Yes indoors is better imo; more control over conditions. If it’s close to your grow area the extra co2 from decomposing materials could even benefit your plants somewhat.
Thanks again man! It’s minimal; the co2 benefit. Worm bins throw off a bit more more co2. Growing mushrooms next to your weed is even higher ppms of co2 but can also make it hotter in the summer.
If you keep a tote bin with a lid on loosely there won’t be any bugs. Sprinkle in some diatomaceous earth on the top layer to prevent gnats from laying eggs. Adding neem seed meal as an amendment also helps control bugs.
I'm ok with neem seed meal going in my soil, but not the diatomaceous earth. I don't want to kill my beneficial insects. It’s minimal; the co2 benefit. Worm bins throw off a bit more more co2. Growing mushrooms next to your weed is even higher ppms of co2 but can also make it hotter in the summer.

well ,i conclude that out of my reaserchs before apply DE , first you are right it's killing beneficial insects and the bad one butI'm ok with neem seed meal going in my soil, but not the diatomaceous earth. I don't want to kill my beneficial insects.
What are you trying to say?well ,i conclude that out of my reaserchs before apply DE , first you are right it's killing beneficial insects and the bad one but
"Diatomaceous Earth will not absorb beneficial bacteria simply due to the fact that DE has a negative charge and bad bacteria has a positive charge. DE will attract and absorb the bad bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc without harming anything good or beneficial "
and that's the important thing for me i guess
