2000W blurple for a 2x4 tent

This will be my first grow. I’ll be using a 2x4x5 tent and a 2000W blurple(400W true output). I feel like this might be a dumb question but is that too much light for that space? If that is such a thing. Thanks.

When I started indoors, I grew with a 400W MH/HPS in the same sized tent. I've upgraded since, but I still have 400W MH lamps in both of my 2x4x5' that I use for veg.

If 400W of HID works well, I can't see the blurple causing issues.

You should be fine as 250 to 300 would power a 3x3. You will have to compensate hang distance for seedlings and different grow stages.

Awesome thanks. I’ve been able to read and learn a ton on this site so will definitely be upgrading some things after this first grow. Thanks.

Would two of these be good for a tent that’s 48x24x60?
Ya. I've used 2 100's in my 2x4 veg tent. Now I have 2 HLG 135 watt 5000k in there turned down a bit. I took this a few days ago to show someone else.

Nice man! So you think two of the 65’s would be ok? Getting big time buyers remorse on the blurple and it’s not even here yet!
Are you looking to replace the Blurple light, and did you buy it somewhere that you can feasibly return it to such as Amazon?

Are you looking for a light that will work well for the whole grow cycle? If you're just gonna use them for the vegetative state the two HLG 65 should provide your plants with sufficient light. If you are planning on flowering with those lights, then you will need significantly more light than they can provide. They are nice little lights though that are made with Samsung LM301B diodes. 30 watts per square foot is a good target to shoot for. Your 2x4 tent should therefore use a light of at least 240 watts.

What is your budget, we can recommend a high quality light for you. Some of these lights use the same diodes as the HLG 65 you are looking at.

Yes I did buy the light off Amazon. I’m buying a blurple so I’m obviously on a budget. With this being my first grow I would like to keep it under $200ish. I even thought about just getting a 600W dimmable HPS. Pulled the trigger too early in my research on the damn blurple. Learned a lot from you guys on this site!

This one uses the Samsung diodes but everything else seems cheap cheap cheap in quality.

I'd return the blurple. And like these guys are saying, you want more wattage then that if you're gonna flower in there too. You could get a Chinese knockoff for around $200.

Looks like it might be decent. I'd save up another $130 and buy the HLG Rspec though if it was me. Too bad the V1's are gone now cause I got a couple for like $215 a piece. I stocked up when they were cheap. I got 2 260's and 2 135's. I almost ordered more, but thankfully they were sold out. I don't need any more lights now, I just couldn't help myself. My 260's are still in their boxes. I've only built one of them so far for fun. They have the new XLG driver too so I can adjust the wattage from like 25-250watts with the included potentiometer.
