This Cree might be one to consider for height restricted grow. The red peaks further along and looks to have nice red/far red ratio. Good price. Can double up on quantity and run low to gain back some efficiency.

I can not see the Cree 4000K 90CRI in 16 strip kit form. You posted a link?Go to the bottom right of that page and check it out in 16 strip kit form.
That's one of my options I just linked for a kit.
for flower yes, ideally 3000k or 2700k 90 cri would be better again.Sorry my mistake, it's the 3500k 90CRi that's in kit form.
Better than the 4K?
Mine were built with a mix of 90cri and 80cri .The Cree datasheet shows close match between the 4000K/90CRI and 3500K/90CRI for red/far red ratio. However the blue/green ratio is much lower for the 3500K/90CRI.
If your max head space is only 4'/1.2m from floor to light, the temptation would be to try use blue leaning light to encourage compact growth. Or use half and half, with 4K leaning blend for first half of flower until growth spurt is done. Followed by finishing with a 3500K 90CRI leaning blend. Depending on who you talk to, some might suggest sticking with 3000K and just increase intensity to get a handle on vertical growth. YMMV.
Datasheet shows the 3090 nichia red peaking around 600nm. Cree datasheet shows the 35/40 90CRI, red peaking around 610/620 nm? Cutters posted graphs show them all at 600nm peak. Do not know what gives there?
Consider buying drivers local to cut down on potential shipping cost. Your idea for 3 lights seems like a good one. And provides you with flexibility, if for example only vegging, to run just one and save on electric.
Rocket souls suggestion of vesta strips is also worthy of further consideration. The Cutter Cree strips look a good price, and @diggs99 has run some but can't remember if his were 90CRI, or 80CRI with supplimentation. Another to hit up for a good starter build recommendation might be @Moflow for some clone wavey board/strip ideas.
I thought 80cri was always the one with more red? This is off the data sheet but I don't know what to compare it to...Of course you can run any strip soft but the more expensive it is the worse economics. The vesta is cheap but not great efficiency so it makes sense to run soft and close to the cannopy in order to make up for being somewhat older gen tech. Which seems to go well with your situation.
The real deal is in the spectrum: 5000k / 2700k and the possibility to run both at the same time over the same driver. Imagine it as a strip that could give you the functionality of a MH, a HPS and CMH using the same driver, only requiring to do the mounting work of one strip instead of 3, and youre paying just under 10$ for 20w of chips. Also it is 90 cri, which in this case means all the 3 variants have a bit of extra red and far red which is really nice for both flower and veg. And 5000k
Is a quite extreme veg spectrum for short plants, some plants like indicas cant handle it and just grows into balls of leaves. 5000k 90cri might be a bit less so due to extra red. But basicly its a bit liike having a dialastretcch function.
Also, diode count: each strip has almost 200 dioodes per 2 foot, the eb gen3 has 120 something. Also, measurements: if your bang on 2.2 its hard to fit, including the extra bit for connecting and frameing, 2 x 4foot strips; ebgen 3 are 118cm, while 2xvestas are 112cm.
There arent really any grows to see with these but we tried them and where very happy with flower, compared to 2700k and 3000k in 80 cri.
You could do a similar build with eb gen3 for a bit more cash and buying double the amount of strips of course.
If that's really the spectrum they put out on a single board... I'm impressed...Check out the spectrum on these. Now that's wat I call a full spectrum led! Lol
