LED Recommendation for 4x4 (Good for whole cycle)

Hi, I’m just wondering what light experienced growers would recommend for a 4x4 indoor tent. I’m after something with as much power as possible for the size of the tent and one that is good for veg & bloom. Thanks

If you need a light for the full grow cycle, I would shoot for 480 watts to 640 watts (30-40 watts per square foot) of high quality LED in a 4x4.

The Mars Hydro TSW 2000w is actually a 300 watt light. It will veg a 4x4 tent well, but you will need to add additional light to attain PPFD numbers that would be considered ample for flowering that size space. IF I was growing with that light, I would use it to flower a 3x3 area max.

Do you have an approximate idea of how
much you can afford to spend on a light?

Are you limiting your choices to pre-built lights or are you open to DIY?

How tall is your tent, 6.5 feet?

Skip the Mars Hydro, and the one recommended isn't suitable for flower in a 4x4 tent. If you want people to give you solid suggestions then it would be helpful to post your budget for lights. If your budget is tight then I would recommend building your own based on the thread linked below. If your budget is closer to the $800 - $1,000 range then I would recommend looking into HLG or Timber lights.

This^^^^
Consider this a minimum using top-tier diodes. That amount can increase by 50% when using less efficient diodes.
A 4x4 is about 1.5 sq meters of area. It will take at least 1200 umole PPF output to achieve this.

The LED I have at the moment is the viparspectra par1200, the booklet that came with it says the actual power draw is around 550 watts, I have yet to actually test this. I have heard mixed opinions about this light hence why I am after an upgrade. Happy to stretch the budget to around $600-750usd if it will help.

Yeah, I'd say a kw of good diodes are a BIT too much.
Oh so they are dimmed of course. I chose the driver because it fit the number of strips perfectly. I went for a ceiling of light. Currently running at about 600 watts.

This is oversimplification...if you have never grown before, spider farmer or mars hydro. Mars hydro has more value...bit less efficient, but more watts for the $. You can spend big bucks on the higher end lights...YES THEY ARE BETTER. But you're going to get discouraged on your first grow anyhow, as it will be nutrients that will be your nemesis. I'm not trying to be fecesios. If you've grown before....then fuck my life , what a waste of texting....jk BTW I have tsw2000 for 4x4...i go to 3x3....its a strong light.
