Look at that BobBitchen I've seen plants doing better than that after a goat shit on it
LOL, maybe I need to borrow one of my neighbor’s goats. Yea I definitely think they were overwatered and that fucked them up permanently. Basically just not growing. I started some more seeds and will try to avoid making the same mistake. The only problem is keeping the seeds moist so they germinate without then oversoaking the container. I’m trying to use a home-made mix that’s heavy on perlite and bark, so as to give more air to the roots for the new ones. Also I’m using little tiny containers to start with, like the size of shot glasses.

Hey there,

So my seedlings aren’t doing too well and I’m not sure what the problem is. Seem to be growing a lot slower than last year, which was my first year. Sort of yellow too, and the leaves are kind of curled. I think it may be too much water but I’ve only water once — however, I planted the seeds into soil that was pretty dang soggy. The lights are standard LED type white lights that I’ve grown other plants under without problem. I keep the room at about 72 F and they’ve also had a heat mat, so I don’t think they’re cold. Do you think they can recover or are these stunted for good?

They seem pretty puny for about a week old:View attachment 4541635
They look ok...what do you think is wrong with them?

They basically haven’t grown since that first picture like 2 weeks ago and look really stunted. Leaves are curled and yellow.

I’m assuming the curled leaves are basically a permanent feature of their stuntedness from overwatering. I let them get almost bone dry and they were still curled. I’m close to giving up on this first batch — luckily, the seeds were from my own crosses so I didn’t have to pay and arm and a leg. If these were like $10 a pop then I’d be way more depressed.

Some of them managed to do OK despite the shitty waterlogged soil, the rest I tossed. Here’s one that I’ve kept:

This whole experience has really opened my eyes to how easy it is to overwater. I basically watered the same amount as last year, except this time I had shittier soil that got waterlogged. Also, I stupidly let water collect beneath the plants in trays, preventing the soil from drying out.

With the new seeds I’ve started, I’m so fucking paranoid of overwatering that I’m using an eye dropper. Also drove to town and got better soil.
