Noob, first LED build with (SL-B8V7N90L1WW)

I have looked, read and learned a lot here, but now I’m ready to jump in and try a LED build of my own. I’m still a bit confused so here is what I’m thinking. Goal is to cover a 4x8 area with the Samsung strips listed in the title from arrow (Cheaper, not top of the line, But $5 bucks & looked good enough to try) My thoughts were to run 12 strips in parallel with a HGL320H-48 and do this x’s 3 (36 strips & 3 drivers) that looks to be around 960 total watts or close and that puts me in the neighborhood of 960/32 or 30 watts per sq ft. of grow space and that puts each strip 320/12 at 26.6 watts per 2’ strip. Would I need heat sink running like this? The plan was to use aluminum angle to build the frame and mount the strips on. Would that work in the 26 watts range? The 35 watts range? Should I use 2 HGL480H-48 instead and run 18 strips? Maybe 3 480’s with 12 strips if the aluminum angle would keep temps in the acceptable range?
As you can tell, I need some direction and guidance. Oh, and I want to use this light for veg and flower both. Can we make this happen or is that just wishful thinking? Brainstorming best options so please help me out.

Those strips could go back to $29/pc literally any second so you know. They do it all the tine.
Plus,there's been a lot of talk about them recently and are really advised against using for a main light. They're really not very great from what I've gathered.

I got 10 of them for backups and I had planned a similar style build. Run more of them but run soft. I am doing that with Bridgelux gen 2 strips and it works great. I couldn't pass them up as its always fun to see what you can do with less. Only poopy thing I can say so far is that the tariff sucks!

These are H- influx. Better efficiency than the diodes on the Arrow $5 strips.

Ask him. Maybe crossed wires. SL-B8V4N90LAWW is 561C diodes. The arrow special, SL-B8V7N90L1WW is LM301A, and is end of life and not as efficient.

Typo. SL-B8V4N90LAWW is LM301B, not 561C. Was getting confused with F series.

the one he said in the title are the 301b strips that are 41mm I think at least the ones in the picture are the 301a. so if op wants to do just veg I would use the 301a's but since I think he wants to do flowering I would have to say 16 of the 301b double rows "SL-B8V4N90LAWW" is the serial for the ones I would use for full cycle. but u can do other things but I would over kill the doubles imo running each one at 60 watts would be sufficient dont u think but the price though. what I would do for very nice coverage. 960 watts over the whole 4x8 would be really nice don't u think? this Is what I would do but since maybe the op wants to do the 301a route I think It could work but he would have to really double down on strips to match the efficiency somewhat. or I could be completely wrong but who knows going to be finishing up this gdp then going to hit the hay. :lol:

(I have 36 @ 2’) I appreciate all of the comments but nobody has suggested which drivers/strip numbers to use, mounted on angle aluminum as the frame, to cover 4x8, start to finish. If this won’t work, can somebody tell me why besides the fact these are older and not top of the line nowadays. I’m new and still trying to learn so go easy. LOL.

Damn, Samsung Strips of every model, length and type are sold the FUCK OUT everywhere right now.
l06's (h-influx, lm301b) in 3500k are avail at arrow for $10 ea, in 3000k they also avail at $15 ea, and 4k for $21 ea. It's the l09 that seems out of stock, but I prefer the l06's anyway since they fit perfectly on the 1" Heatsink USA extrusions.

That's the thing, buddy. LED tech is advancing so ever quickly, it'd be a shame to get something that is already pretty inferior and a year from now be basically obsolete. I think you should order the h Influx Major just reccomended in 3500k for $10. Maybe get a few 3000k ($15) to mix in. Or spend the $10 and get them all 3000k from CUTTER:

Depends on how much you are paying for electricity, and if you are willing to run them close to canopy. If you have lots of strips, you can run them at lower power and gain some efficiency. And possibly get away with less expensive sinking like plain alu angle or channel. In your case, consider building as 240w units or something. The advantage to that is, if one dies, you can limp through until you have a fix.

I bodged together a comparison with other strips, using the samsung engine calculator. Its a numbers game.

Run the engine calculator, and see what efficiency you are happy with. Then base your driver choice on the figures.

Be a wise option to select dimmable drivers.

Or what I did and use the 3500k in conjunction with HLG qb11 (or qb18 for 4ft) strips in 660nm
