So I have recently entered into the world of indoor growing. I currently am using a space bucket design with 4x 100 watt equivalent 1600 lumen 5k LEDs for veg and plan to use 4x 100 watt equivalent 1600 lumen 2.7k LEDs for veg. I also have some LED strip, 3050 I believe, for side lighting.

I like the bucket and it was a fun project but I am already looking for other options. I’d like to have a light to grow other veggies like lettuce in the winter months also to supplement or replace my T8 6.5k bulbs.

I’ve done a bunch of reading and have narrowed down my options a bit. I’d mostly likely utilize a 2x2 space/tentor a 3x3 as the largest area. I have been looking at the Hlg rspec, Spider Farmer 1000, or a DIY setup using a 2x2 design from led gardener .

I don’t have a tent yet and am basically trying to brain storm the best option before I make a hasty decision. Out of the above options what is the best choice in your option? Any advice is surely welcome.

I built a 2x2 box out of plywood. Painted the inside white and cut holes for intake/exhaust. Cost me $50!
I run an HLG 100 v2 3000k in there. I works wonders and I’ve recommended it to so many people. So again I’ll say go the HLG route!! It’s less than $200 for a badass light. Check my linked grow journal if you wanna see the difference it made in my grow

I just checked out your grow journal. Thank looks pretty awesome. I have debated just framing something out with wood and painting it or lining it with mylar vs buying a 2x2 tent. The kit is $197 for the HLG light and I am very tempted. Glad that you like you 100 v2. They are currently out of stock on the site.

Craigslist always has different cabinets popping up in the free section. A normal size wardrobe or computer cabinet will give you a 2x2-ish space to work with.

Just checked that out. Down the rabbit hole I go. A lot of people use led cobs I see.
