Humidity/humidity dome question

I know there are alot of debates weather you need domes for seeds etc. But I have had good success germinating seeds with the use of a dome made from a empty 2l bottle.

My question is, my RH in tent is between 35-40% at best and that's with a few shallow water bowls in there. I've not had great success transitioning from seedling to veg stage, and was wondering if:

Should I leave them under the dome for say 5 - 7 days after popping up to allow them to establish roots?

Then to get them slowly accustomed to the lower rh, open the lid of the top of the bottle to allow some air to get in/some humidity to escape so as not to shock them from going high to low rh in one hit for a few days before removing completely?

I have not had much luck so far so trying to make small changes to see where I'm going wrong, this time I germinated straight into light mix without the use of a jiffy pellet as I think they were causing me issues before.

No seedlings need fresh air from the moment they break the soil surface, a dome impeades that and the leaves adjust to a different climate and very thick boundary layer which only shocks it when it does finally get undomed.

Theres a lot written but the hard facts are you should never dome stuff with roots such as seedlings.

If you just want to keep your soil moist till germination a dome can help pretty good.

So should I try to remove lid now to acclimatise them slowly now before removing in a few days? I have tried removing dome as soon as they pop and have not had any luck

I use a solo cup with moistened soil and a baggie over the top to sprout them. Once sprouted I remove baggie.... From there I mist them for the first week or two a few times a day... Seem to respond well to foliar once a week.
My Temps for them run between 75 and 77 in the 50's rh
I run them under a full spectrum led and blue led a good 48" away.
If the get top heavy I support them with a wire stake I fashion to cradle the stem.
I haven't lost one seed/sprout in years although I do primarily run clones from my mom's.

I understand that would be ideal, but as your grow space rh is high enough to be less of a shock it likely works better, but this is why I am debating leaving them under the dome a little longer since I'm struggling with low humidity.

Yea, I agree with you. I use this method with my clones... I graduate them slowly to the hard air outside the dome. Your reasoning sounds plausible to me. My clones stay in dome for 10 to 20 days depending on what they say to me..

If you had no luck undomed when they pop you need to get better at growing not domeing (or is that doming, my english is pretty crap).

Your avoiding the real problem and trying to use gimmicks to supplement the failings.

Can i add that in a nice way, no one wants to be told that or suck at germinating seeds but your not going to help yourself believing that dome is whats needed to suckceed.

Question logic youll get the answer.

I do understand what your saying mate, and believe me I'm very new to this and not very good at all so I take all advice I'm given in a positive way since you took the time to read my question and offer your input for the sole purpose to help me achieve a successful grow so thank you!

So put simply then, acclimatising them to lower rh the way I mentioned above Vs getting them fresh air sooner, you would say to get them in the fresh air sooner rather than later?

Yes fresh air straight away 100%, no dome, no babying no overthinking just get good at that.

If it has problems germinating no dome you have another problem not humidity related.
