Bend them over as soon as possible., and dont top them. Blast them with all the light possible. They will turn into bushes if you do this, and you will keep your growing tip.
We veg with 1000w Hortilux. Give them all the soil possible. We start in 36oz plastic Deli Containers, and then transplant into 5 gallons soil, and then 20 gallons. We also veg in 5 gallon grow bags, and when transplanted simply cut the bag from them, and retransplant. No shock and easy to do. Rough up the roots a bit. Will grow into a huge hedge. Big is also genetic. We like Mr Nice Super Silver Haze for strong structured plants, and fast growing.

For outside Id use 50 gallons soil/soilless. We use Promix BX

You can also use BIG grow cages for support. Or make your own

My buddy did an outdoor a few years ago and grasshoppers messed him up pretty hard for a while and then later when the plants were about 3 weeks from ripe a hail storm came and decimated everything. What little was left was messed up because an early hard frost hit that. Really sucked because he had some pretty big trees and he busted ass taking care of them all summer in the 100+ degree heat. It can be very difficult in some locations to get the plant truly ripe before mother nature says your done lol. He busted ass for three seasons before that one and it was always something. One year it was thieves.
I have a feeling your buddy lives in CO, lol. Every year my outdoor vegetable garden gets pummeled by hail. It would be disappointing if a nice weed crop got demolished from it. I'm really tempted to build a greenhouse, but I'm gonna have to use some bulletproof glass for the crazy hail we get here if I do, lol.

Those are only 50 gallons look more atleast 100s. And dam I ended up topping most of them . I left 15 untouched so I guess I’ll be good . When do you start your initial veg ? I’ve been actually using sun and just a regular led light that keeps them up when the sun isn’t up any more running 18-6 . I was thinking of only doing 10 in 100 gallon this year and the other 65 in 30-35 gallon pots im up in Northern California kinda tempted to use native soil since we had a bunch of fires up here few years ago .

No those arent mine. Just showing the cages. Topping can work, they just have to veg longer. Youre good. You didnt hurt them.

If I set them outside, I try and match the lighting period of outside, or you risk flowering to early, and then they may try and reveg on you. Causes to much of a clusterfuck.

Usually Id give them 14 hours light, so its less likely they will flower when put putside.

Basically how I been doing it is I set them out side when sun rises till sun goes down then I bring them inside at about 8 when sun sets and turn a regular led shop light on till about 1230 . After 1230 I turn light off and goes completely dark . I repeat the process every day . You think I should cut back on the hours of light I’m giving and just stick with straight sun ?

Hey you guys I have popped seeds and want to try to get 10 monsters out of them. they are about a foot high and I haven’t did any training on them yet . Should I top if I want to try and grow monsters out of the 10 big ones and leave the others to just grow or what is the best method of growing also I have some discoloration in my plants leaves that are minimal but I feel needs some attention .

Can only speak for indoor growing and if you want monsters you need good genetics, veg time and environment.

Even with those 3 aspects monsters are not a given.

That's all part if the excitement of growing in my opinion

Not sure about outdoor as I've never done it.

Just indoor for me and I'm happy.

I might have a monster growing currently. Well indoor wise anyway.

Blackberry Gum fem at 6 weeks with 3 to go. Done these before and they do produce well.

I just left mine in veg for too long and have indoor monsters.
This one is 5' tall and 4' x 4' canopy .............. taken over my understairs space (monster under the stairs). Red Diesel
And by the window 5' tall and taking over the room, no light apart from what comes in the window (monster in front of the window). Lemon Kush
For some reason the monster in front of the window has decided to flower, even though it's the wrong season.
I wonder if part of flowering might be pheromones because there's two in flower in a tent next to it, along with an auto in flower.
